Haiku Ave.
I published Haiku Avenue: 333 haiku poems this year, but it's been longer than 6 months. GoodReads has a six month window for the Giveaway program. I'll email you the PDF file if you promise to do a book review on GoodReads and Amazon by Nov. 15. This offer expires Oct. 25, '15. Tell your friends.
Send me your name and email address in a private message. I promise not to give the email address to a third party or use it for any other purpose.

The horror of it - Proof Reading
My stuff gets proof read 4 times for glitches, like typos. With each read I find errors I didn't see before as if the paper is possessed by the glitch demon. This punishment should only be given out to horror writers if there is going to be any merit to the saying "you reap what you sow."
Even reading a classic, I'll find a glitch now and then. Stuff happens.

Saving $
There's a couple things I do to try to save money on my writing: (1) buy reconditioned ink cartridges from Wallgreen's for $20 instead of new cartridges for $30; (2) save the paper and use the other side rather than throwing it out after just using one side.
Right now, I'm editing Tommy's Exodus, a novel, and if I'm wasteful the costs add up. Although, I do everything myself, including the covers, there is still expenses. If I watch these unnecessary expenses, It puts me a little closer to breaking even for the year.

Cosplay
This morning I was surfing for news and was bombarded by short articles and ads with the word "cosplay" used in them. I had to look it up. This is what good ol' Wiki...
said about it: "Cosplay (コスプレ kosupure?), a portmanteau of the words costume play, is a performance art in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character. Cosplayers often interact to create a subculture and a broader use of the term "cosplay" applies to any costumed role-playing in venues apart from the stage. Any entity that lends itself to dramatic interpretation may be taken up as a subject and it is not unusual to see genders switched. Favorite sources include manga and anime, comic books and cartoons, video games, and live-action films and television series.
The rapid growth in the number of people cosplaying as a hobby since 1990 has made the phenomenon a significant aspect of popular culture in Japan and some other parts of Asia and in the Western world. Cosplay events are common features of fan conventions and there are also dedicated conventions and local and international competitions, as well as social networks, websites and other forms of media centered on cosplay activities."
I've filed this away in my tin box of memories and should use it in a story down the road.

Launch
This past week I launched my new book Blind Date by posting it on my blog and emails out to those on my blog list. So far I got a couple offers to do reviews of the book. One is from Australia and the other Canada.
Next week I'm trying something new with press releases. See how it goes.

Camping on beach
Last week, to escape the heat and smoke in the air from the forest fires, I took my dog Belle to the beach for a couple days of camping. It was a nice cool break.
