Gone with the Pen
I'm still at ANWA's very fun retreat--"Gone with the Pen." I went out for a beautiful early morning walk. Fresh mountain air. Warm pine scent. Restful. Still except for the birds and squirrels. I turned around to retrace my steps back to the cabin, and a deer bounded off into the woods. A few yards farther and I came across a second deer calmly nibbling on a bush. She stared at me. I stared back. I pulled my phone out to snap a quick shot of proof, and . . . I forgot to charge it last night ...

Hello from the Pines and Michael in Hong Kong
I left the cactus for the pine trees and am posting today from a cabin outside of Prescott and the ANWA retreat. It's beautiful, cool, and green. I need to take a hike so I can inhale the trees. I have to apologize--I couldn't post yesterday because our internet decided it wasn't in the mood the function. Yikes! So I need to catch up on the tour.
Yesterday, the tour returned to Bonnie Gets a Say for part two of the interview. She had some great questions on TAKEN BY STORM. Today, I revisit Mar...

A Blog Visit to Mexico and A Special Place on the Farm
We're traveling down to Mexico today for another visit to Itzel Library. Yel has been an amazing support and proponent for my books. She organized a gigantic tour of hispanic blogs all around the world. Itzel Library is an amazing blog, and I'm honored to visit it again. Please stop in and see how great I sound in Spanish. Thanks, Yel, for translating me once again.

A Big Welcome to Christy's Stories and a Visit to BYU
Today M+L Forever visits a new friend and blog, Christy's Stories. Christy asked questions that no one else has before. She's a new blogger so please stop by, make lots of comments, and welcome her to the Michael and Leesie family.
Now that you've seen Phuket and a glimpse of the Similans, it's time to take a look at where Leesie ended up. For some reason, I have no pictures of BYU. And I was just on the campus again in May when my son got married. But my daughter, Rachel, is a much better pho...

Similan Research and Margaret's Interview Part 2
Today the blog tour returns to Margaret's Blog for Part 2 of the interview I did with her. I hope you enjoy it.
I'm tearing my hair out this morning because the second time we went to Phukett, my husband and I drove up to Khoa Lak to research Similan dive trips. Khoa Lak is a tiny village the boats that go to the Similans dock at. I took all kinds of pictures and videos, and somehow there isn't a single shot in my iPhoto. I wanted to post them today! Oh, well. We'll have to go right to the Sim...

I'm totally distracted this week because I'm working until the wee hours of the morning on the musical stage adaption of SING ME TO SLEEP. It's such an exciting process to see it transform. I'm collaborating with Harriet Bushman, who composed the music and arranged "Beth's Son...

POWER-LESS IN MESA!
The transformer that feeds us (and the whole East Valley) electricity blew up Thursday. Exploded. Caught fire. Billowed black smoke. Even the cell towers were out. The power was off here for about seven hours. I think it was around 110 F. Our house stayed okay inside. And the fridge was fine, but it made us realize how dependent we are on electricity for everything. I want solar panels and batteries! So I'm way behind on posting.
Please forgive me! I'll catch up after the 4th of July. Have a h...

A Visit to Margaret's Blog and Underwater Thailand
Today, I'm delighted to visit author Margaret Larsen's blog. She's running a three-part interview starting today. Margaret's novel, SAVE THE CHILD, is about a family's legal battle to get the treatment they want for their child with cancer. Margaret is a medical professional and knows what she's talking about. Margaret also started the group, Writer's Unite To Fight Cancer, which organizes fundraising efforts and author events around the Valley of the Sun. I'm honored to be associated with th...

Come Dive with me in Thailand!
It's summer time and I wish I was diving. Here's the dive photographer's pictures of the first day of diving we spent in Phuket. Notice how green and murky the water seems. That's what Michael calls, "vis" or visibility. Contrast the murk with the clear, blue underwater pictures my husband took in Grand Cayman that I posted earlier.
The cool thing about diving in Thailand is the stunning soft corals. The photographer gave us photos he took with a strobe, too. I'll share some of those...

A FINAL IMAGE FROM TAKEN BY STORM
This is the last image I'll share from TAKEN BY STORM. I'll start posting UNBROKEN CONNECTION pictures tomorrow.
This is the Spokane Temple at night--like it would have looked when Michael and Leesie stood in the snow looking at it when they cut out of the dance. I hope you can feel the peace of it. Cue the snowflakes! Can you imagine them standing there staring up it?
My brother, David Wolf, also took this photo for me. Beautiful work, isn't it?
