Cedar Bluff – A Timeless Master Bathroom

The clients wanted to bring their 1990’s Master Bathroom up-to-date, placing great emphasis on improved lighting, increased storage and a classy up-scale look fitting with their high-end home. The pre-existing bathroom was mundane with a cramped shower, poor lighting and insufficient storage, resulting in a cluttered appearance. The cabinets were builder–grade, lacking functionality. The design, materials and colors were from an older era, lacking the fashionable look the rest of their home b...

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall – Trending Reflective Surfaces

Recently, I completed a project with a homeowner in Venus, TX. This client wanted to add a bit of So-Cal comfort to her Cowboy Chic bathroom remodel. Rather than use a traditionally framed mirror, she opted for a custom frame with a 3D texture inspired by the West Coast.

For those wanting to have a “bigger is better” statement mirror for their bathroom remodel, check out a few different possibilities that are sure to be a conversation starter.

The layering rule doesn’t just apply to...

The vanity has gone from non-existent to in-place.

The floor has been upgraded to include a rustic wood-look tile and the newly installed obscure window allows for more natural lighting along with privacy.

This expanded space once housed an un-used tub. Since then, the tub has been removed, framework has been added, a new window installed, a pony wall with granite ledge and tile throughout provides a clean and transitional...

A Home with Great “Bones” Gets a 21st Century Remodel

This Beautiful high-end Colleyville home built inthe late 1980’sreally needed an update in order to fit with the rest of their upscale home. The owners were hesitant to tear up the kitchen floor as they thought another layer of flooring- brick, was underneath. The kitchen was dark and dated with an uninviting aura. As we discussed the kitchen, we realized that a facelift was the answer. The cabinets were in good condition but has been previously painted in a dull and dark color. Bright blue t...

A Re-cap of the 2015 Fort Worth Home and Garden Spring Show

The Fort Worth Home and Garden show was this past weekend, February 13 – 15th. Though the weather changed from one day to the next, we had lots of homeowners stop by the LoneStar Property Solutions booth. It’s always fun to hear what homeowners plans are for their projects. Many have plans to do away with their un-used tub by extending their shower. Others want to do away with an aged design and update the look of their kitchen to attract potential buyers.

No matter what the project…one thing...

A Country Cowboy Kitchen in the Works…

When I first visited the owners of this home out in the country in Venus, south of Mansfield, we had lots of fun discussing the background of the home. It was once a metal fabricated building that the current owners faced with thick rock. They had a large entry fit for the over-sized dogs, but crowding the small kitchen area. We decided to remove the wall between the entry and kitchen, creating a much bigger kitchen with a very open concept.

The old kitchen had very little counter space- jus...

A Retro Remodel in Fort Worth, Texas

This young couple in Ft Worth is preparing for their family with a birth of a daughter in February 2015. When we first met with the professional couple, we discussed the age of their home and how they want to keep it in line with the era.
