I had such a good time writing Tender Is The Night. I love female protagonists who are tough, nurturing and fun, all at the same time. And writing about Kate Callaway, new FBI agent, matched up with Devin Scott, a cynical ex-agent was really entertaining. I hope you’ll enjoy the book as well.
I love to read about agents and spies, and I like to watch them on TV, too. When I was writing Kate’s role in Tender Is The Night, I was somewhat inspired by my binge watching of a television show called Covert Affairs. I don’t know if any of you watched it, but it was about a young, female CIA agent who goes through the ranks of the CIA and finds living a life with normal people and spies to be very challenging. You can now binge watch it on Netflix and other providers. I also really like shows like NCIS, Hawaii 5-0, and Blue Bloods because they combine the personal stories with the protagonist’s pursuit of criminals. The family of Blue Bloods often reminds me of the Callaways, because they also have the family tradition to serve and protect.

A Beautiful Storm Contest
I’ve been looking forward to this day for a very long time, because today marks the start of my brand new trilogy, LIGHTNING STRIKES. I’ve long been fascinated by lightning, rainclouds, and all things weather—just like Alicia Monroe in BEAUTIFUL STORM. An old Mayan legend says lightning will reveal all that must come to light. And the events of BEAUTIFUL STORM are no exception.
