A few days

So...I have a few days before The Chase, Double XX Series goes in for Pre-Order. I am beyond nervous, but I am writing this blog, so when I go to publish book #20 and book #50 I will remember the thoughts that ran through my mind, when I published my very first novel.
Will they like the book?
Will people be turned off about the social nuances embedded within the book and characters?
What genre will it be most successful?
Did I do all I could do to make it the best book possible?
Considering it's my first work and it has a squeal when should I release it?

A new author's thoughts!

Musings of a New Author

As a new romance author in the beginning phases of publishing a book, I have been both surprised and disappointed by the help or lack of when entering into this new territory. To my surprise, some authors of the same genre and different have been extremely helpful. To the point of liking my status, answering my long questions to talking with me over the phone. Others have pointed me to search for others on Facebook and Amazon. All in all, I appreciate their assistance, because it is tough trying to navigate new territory. I feel like the new kid at school, trying to figure out who I should be friends with and who I should avoid. Who knew there was a genre war? Who knew people stole other people's books? What do AA, IR, MC, acronyms mean? I have done so many Google searches and author stalking, it's ridiculous.
Overall, I have learned a lot and there is so much more I need to learn. Writing is not only a passion, but a stress reliever. I am the Vice Principal at a high school, so I need to relieve stress. A lot of it. Therefore, if you see me releasing books every three months, you have some idea why.
These are my musings to date. I am nervous for the release date, so nervous that the pre-order will be available April 1st. The book will be released April 13th and I am working on the other projects.
Well, thanks to all the ones that have helped me to date (Christina C. Jones, Yolanda Ann, Perry Forrest, Ask an Author (River Savage Group)) and I could never forget the Crusaders) and the many more to come. One of the things I have valued in my career is the importance of good mentors. If you ever had a poor one, then you know what I mean.
One cannot really put a price on wisdom!
