The Fall of London (Vampire: The Masquerade) review

THE FALL OF LONDON for Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition is a chronicle that details one of the most important events of the latest edition of the tabletop game: the destruction of every vampire in London at the hands of the Second Inquisition. London has always been one of the pillars of the Camarilla and while very little was actually written up for the city, it was long considered a fan favorite due to its stature in the real world as well as its rulership by 4th...

More precisely, it is Visual Novel which consists of a "Choose Your Own Adventure"-esque text adventure. Your character is Embraced as a vampire one evening and have a limited amount of time to make a number of allies to help you against both the Second Inquisition as well as your fellow undead.

Agents of Mortal: Deicide by M.K. Gibson review

AGENTS OF MORTAL: DEICIDE by M.K. Gibson is the latest offering from an author that has done a lot of books that I've enjoyed. I've read his TECHNOMANCER, VILLAINS RULE, and SHE DREAMS OF FIRE novels. Like a lot of the indie authors I know, he's on the Kindle Unlimited system and effectively a free-ish book source for subscribers. Gibson's book are heavy on the humor, irony, and cynicism with his protagonists tending to be somewhat sardonic heroes in the Harry Dresden mold.

United States of Monsters Reading List

One of my favorite creations as a writer so far has been my United States of Monsters books. It is a world where vampires, werewolves, mages, and fairies live openly with humanity after the Reveal in 2007. The majority of the action takes place in Michigan, specifically the Detroit area, but the prequel is a globetrotting spy adventure trilogy. Plus, the Morgan Detective Agency references some events in the previous trilogies. So, I thought I'd share the reading order of the books if anyone...

Dane Curse by Matt Abraham review

DANE CURSE is the first book of the BLACK CAPE CASE FILES by Matt Abraham. It is the story of the titular detective who is a former supervillain with the powers of the Wrecker but who has since retired to become a private detective specializing in the affairs of "black capes." Dane Curse is a fascinating noir private eye in a seemingly Golden Age of Superheroism city that has the same sort of timelessness as Gotham City.

    Dane's business is doing alright...

Chains of Blood by M.L. Spencer review

"History is written by the winners, unless it is written by the survivors."
I've always been fond of fantasy that picks up years, decades, or even centuries after the events of a previous book's story. It's why I'm fond of the old Star Wars Legends universe and the current sequel trilogy (even if both had flaws). My favorite "popcorn fantasy" in the Dragonlance novels did an excellent series based around the Heroes of the Lance and their successors...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) review

*Warning - Long drawn out political analysis*

Let's be honest, Call of Duty's campaign mode hasn't been good for awhile now. It used to be one of the biggest franchises in the world but it got trapped in the yearly development cycle and then went in some odd directions. I don't think we have to explain that Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, and Infinite Warfare were not great directions to pursue. Each of them more or less ended without any resolution to their campaigns and weren't terribly great storie...
