The Games of Supervillainy audiobook is now available!

Great news, everyone! Jeffrey Kafer, the narrator for THE RULES OF SUPERVILLAINY, not only successfully completed and submitted the sequel but it is now available for purchase from Audible as well as Amazon.com. I've, of course, already heard his results and I believe them to be better than his previous work--which was amazingly well done.
Get ready for the action-packed follow up to The Rules of Supervillainy. This time with zombies, zombified heroes and villains, cults, magic, super-science,...

Star Trek: Typhon Pact: Brinkmanship review

The Typhon Pact novels are an interesting experiment in Star Trek literature. They are, in simple terms, an attempt to create a power to rival the Federation which is simultaneously hostile to the Alpha Quadrant's "good guys" but not something which can be just ignored as long as no one crosses the Neutral Zone. This isn't really all that original of an idea since the Klingons used to occupy this role in the Original Series and the Cardassians/Dominion had it for the period...

Wraith Knight cover revealed!
Here's the cover for my upcoming book, to be released in Fall of 2016, WRAITH KNIGHT!
I really love what Alex Raspad did with this work as he managed to capture exactly what I wanted from the characters. I especially like his handling of Regina who manages to convey the haunted yet determined look I was hoping to get from a cover featuring her.
What is WRAITH KNIGHT about?
The King Below, Enemy of Creation, is dead. Will his successor save the world... or rule it?
Jacob Riverson was once the grea...

Star Trek: New Frontier: The Quiet Place review

I created the United Federation of Charles to review Star Trek: Expanded Universe novels. I quickly moved away from this format because, well, I was interested in other stuff and there was a slow plod toward the events of the first Star Trek movie. Still, I've always maintained my love of the franchise and with the discovery Peter David has returned to writing Star Trek: New Frontier novels, I decided to return to my review of said series.
For those of you...

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate: Jack the Ripper DLC review

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate was an excellent addition to the Assassin's Creed franchise. It wasn't an exceptional game, really, due to the rather stereotypical depiction of the Assassin vs. Templars conflict and greater difficulty at parkour but it was miles more enjoyable than Assassin's Creed V. I was, thus, glad at the prospect of a DLC expansion involving Jack the Ripper vs. the Frye Twins. So what did I think? Eh, I don't really have much in the way of any strong feeli...

Star Wars: Aftermath review

One of the things which always annoyed me was the celebration montage of the Return of the Jedi Special Edition. While other fans may complain about Han shooting first, Boba Fett being a lowly thug in Jabba's entourage (I maintain that's Jodo Kast), and Luke screaming when he's clearly trying to kill himself in order to avoid capture (or escape via air vent); the thing that annoyed me most was the sight of the entire galaxy celebrating the death of Emperor Palpatine.

Are the First Order actually the good guys?

This essay will contain spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Before the Awakening, Star Wars: The Lost Stars, and the Star Wars: Visual Dictionary.
Before I get to the actual essay, the answer to the titular question is obviously no. The First Order is a group which uses Nazi iconography, speeches, and visual cues. They massacre a village of peaceful religious dissidents. They blow up the planet housing the capital of the New Republic. They slaughter a bar f...

Updates for THE GAMES OF SUPERVILLAINY

Hey folks,
I just wanted you all to know that THE GAME OF SUPERVILLAINY's Kindle version has been updated. There were a few typos and mistakes which we missed the first time around (a couple of egregious ones) which were errors made by our editing process that we're all very embarrassed about. The new version has corrected these and is the one we'll be using for our print release as well as the audio book.
Our apologies and this won't happen again.
Speaking of the audio book version, Jeffrey Ka...

Journey to The Force Awakens: Lost Stars review

Lost Stars is the chronicles of the treacherous Thane Kyrell, murderous rebel and terrorist, who betrays the courageous Imperial officer Ciena Ree. Ciena Ree overcomes her budding attraction for the charismatic sociopath and shows the people of the galaxy her tireless loyalty to the values of Emperor Palpatine's New Order.
*ahem*
Oh, sorry, that's my inner Imperial leaking out. Lost Stars is a Young Adult novel about two childhood friends...
