The Unleashed
The Haunted, Book 2

Horror, YA
eBook, Hardcover, 272 Pages

Blurb
In the terrifying sequel to The Haunted, Hendricks discovers that even though Steele House is gone, the hauntings in Drearfield are far from over — and it’s up to her to stop them.

Following the devastating blaze at Steele House, Hendricks and her friends are trying to return to normal. Prom is coming up and the school is in full preparation mode. Hendricks tries to pitch in, to mimic Portia’s enthusiasm, but the events of the last few months still haunt her. Steele House. Raven. Eddie.

Hendricks believes Eddie is still out there. She just has to find a way to reach him. Together with her friends, she forms a circle of seven and attempts to summon his spirit. Suddenly things start happening again. Flickering lights in the school library. Mysterious girls roaming the halls. The same song playing on a loop wherever she goes.

It all culminates in a violent attack and Hendricks realizes what they summoned may not be Eddie at all. The one thing she does know is that Steele House was only the beginning. And whatever they’ve unleashed is more dangerous than anything they’ve ever seen before.

Top Ten Tuesday: The Last 10 Books That Gave Me A Book Hangover

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish and currently hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.
Top Ten Tuesday: The Last Ten Books to Give Me A Book Hangover

This week's TTT is all about book hangovers. Personally, I hate them because they lead to slumps when I'd rather finish one book and immediately plunge into another. Here are some of the last books that I loved so much they (temporarily) ruined me for all other books...

1. Sadie by Courtney Summers
2. The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
3. No One's Home by D.M. Pulley
4. Rules for Vanishing by Kate Alice Marshall
5. Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
6. The Haunted by Danielle Vega
7. The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg
8. Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
9. The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

10. The Rules by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie

What books have given you a book hangover?

50/50 Friday: Favorite/Least Favorite Romance of 2019

50/50 Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Carrie @ The Butterfly Reader.
What is 50/50 Friday?Everyone has a favorite and then we also have something we dislike. Like a coin, there are two sides to every question. Example: best sequel you've read/worst sequel you've read. So that's what 50/50 Friday is all about. Carrie posts a new topic every Friday so be sure to check out her post to see the topic for the following week!Topic for the WeekBest/Worst Romance of 2019
I don’t read a ton of books that are just romance with some other genre (thriller, fantasy, sci-fi, etc.) mixes in but when I do I’m really picky...
Best
Repeat by Kylie ScottI have a soft spot for male leads who are tattoo artists and second chance romance plus I love this author.
Worst
Sick Kids In LoveSo this book still got three stars from me but I didn’t care much for the main character which made me not care about the romance.
Next Week’s Theme: Favorite / Least Favorite Paranormal of 2019

{RELEASE DAY BLITZ} IT WAS ALWAYS YOU by Erika Kelly

IT WAS ALWAYS YOUA Calamity Falls Novel #5By Erika KellyRelease Date: February 13

He’s the bad boy quarterback, one scandal away from being traded.
She’s the squeaky-clean pop star with a morality clause hanging around her neck.
And they can’t keep their hands off each other.
Cassian Ellis fell in love with Gigi Cavanaugh when he was fourteen. But he couldn’t have her. His mentor — her dad — promised to take him out of detention and all the way to the pros. The price: stay away from his daughter.
But Gigi was embedded in his soul — there was no distancing himself from her. And, senior year in high school, in a moment of desperation when he couldn’t take all the want and love and lust, he ended things in the worst way possible.
Now, nine years later, he’s forced to do charity work to clean up his party boy image.
And guess who’s working right alongside him?
Gigi can't believe her bad luck. She's on the same Dreams Come True tour as Cassian Ellis. And, with the press recording their every move, she has to pretend to like the man who tore out her heart and stomped all over it.
But Cassian couldn’t be happier since he never stopped loving her. And he’s determined to win her back. Only, someone’s leaking photographs, and headlines about the bad boy quarterback corrupting the squeaky-clean pop star could sink both their dreams.
Can their love overcome all the world has put between them?

I Can’t Wait For... This Coven Won’t Break

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released.
The first book in this series was my first pick for the YA BOTM sub box and it became an instant favorite. I can’t wait for the second book to arrive this summer...
This Coven Won’t Break(These Witches Don’t Burn #2)by Isabel Sterling
LGBT, Urban FantasyeBook, Hardcover, 304 PagesJune 2, 2020 by Razorbill

BlurbIn this gripping, romantic sequel to These Witches Don't Burn, Hannah must work alongside her new girlfriend to take down the Hunters desperate to steal her magic.
Hannah Walsh just wants a normal life. It's her senior year, so she should be focusing on classes, hanging out with her best friend, and flirting with her new girlfriend, Morgan. But it turns out surviving a murderous Witch Hunter doesn't exactly qualify as a summer vacation, and now the rest of the Hunters seem more intent on destroying her magic than ever.
When Hannah learns the Hunters have gone nationwide, armed with a serum capable of taking out entire covens at once, she's desperate to help. Now, with witches across the country losing the most important thing they have—their power—Hannah could be their best shot at finally defeating the Hunters. After all, she's one of the only witches to escape a Hunter with her magic intact.
Or so everyone believes. Because as good as she is at faking it, doing even the smallest bit of magic leaves her in agony. The only person who can bring her comfort, who can make her power flourish, is Morgan. But Morgan's magic is on the line, too, and if Hannah can't figure out how to save her—and the rest of the Witches—she'll lose everything she's ever known. And as the Hunters get dangerously close to their final target, will all the Witches in Salem be enough to stop an enemy determined to destroy magic for good?

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? - 10 February 2020

#IMWAYR is a weekly meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date. [image error] Hey Bookdragons! So I finished the first draft of my latest novel and I finally have some reading time! (Yay!)
What I Read Last Week/What I’m Currently Reading:

[image error] I managed to snag an ARC of this through a trade with another blogger and I am so excited to be reading one of my most anticipated reads of 2020. It’s so good so far...
Based on the sheer length of it and also editing the first draft of the previously mentioned newly finished novel this is my read for last week, this week, and probably into next week unless I have a ton of time to read this week.
[image error] What are you reading this week? Do you plan to read SJM’s adult debut?

{Release Day Blitz} YOU’RE THE ONE by Layla Hagen

Very Irresistible Bachelors #1
Release Date: February 4

Hot.
Flirty.
Romantic.

It all started as pretend...

My best friend and one of the most powerful men in New York, needed my help.

Our first kiss was unexpected --but it still made my skin sizzle, my knees go weak.

The next one was in front of his tight-knit family. We had to be convincing. But it was so wicked hot, it almost convinced me too.

On our first night together, he told me that I had to keep us both in check, because he didn't know how to keep the lines from blurring...

He touched me like I was precious, and held me close...barely stopping his fingers from pushing down the straps of my dress...

On our second night, our banter turned to flirting.
Hunter --my best friend was now Hunter--the man.

Intense.
Alluring.
Sexy as hell.

I Can't Wait For... The Deep

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released.
I haven't read the other book I have by this author but when I saw "Titanic" in the blurb I immediately added it to my TBR.

The Deep
by Alma Katsu
Horror, Historical Fiction
eBook, Hardcover, 432 Pages
March 10, 2020 by G.P. Putnam's Sons

BlurbFrom the acclaimed and award-winning author of The Hunger comes an eerie, psychological twist on one of the world's most renowned tragedies, the sinking of the Titanic and the ill-fated sail of its sister ship, the Britannic.

Someone, or something, is haunting the ship. That is the only way to explain the series of misfortunes that have plagued the passengers of the Titanic from the moment they set sail. The Titanic's passengers expected to enjoy an experience befitting the much-heralded ship's maiden voyage, but instead, amid mysterious disappearances and sudden deaths, find themselves in an eerie, unsettling twilight zone. While some of the guests and crew shrug off strange occurrences, several--including maid Annie Hebbley, guest Mark Fletcher, and millionaires Madeleine Astor and Benjamin Guggenheim--are convinced there's something more sinister going on. And then disaster strikes.

Years later, Annie, having survived that fateful night, has attempted to put her life back together by going to work as a nurse on the sixth sailing of the Britannic, newly refitted as a hospital ship to support British forces fighting World War I. When she happens across an unconscious Mark, now a soldier, she is at first thrilled and relieved to learn that he too survived the tragic night four years earlier. But soon his presence awakens deep-buried feelings and secrets, forcing her to reckon with the demons of her past--as they both discover that the terror may not yet be over.

Featuring an ensemble cast of characters and effortlessly combining the supernatural with the height of historical disaster, The Deep is an exploration of love and destiny, desire and innocence, and, above all, a quest to understand how our choices can lead us inexorably toward our doom.
