Having lived in three countries and worked in several very different industries I thought it might be interesting to record my impressions of the new places we lived. It struck me that the first year in any new environment had the most impact. Then everything is new and different. By the second year one is becoming used to the place and events, people and cultures become more normal again. So I decided on a series of novels that would relate in fictional form the impressions that I experienced moving from England to Zambia to the United States, and within the States from Wisconsin to California to Utah and Missouri.
