Final Cover, Front & Back, for The Homecoming

We're only 2 months away from the release of my 2nd novel, The Homecoming. The final artwork is completed for the front and back cover. I really like what they did with it. I've posted them here, but it's a little hard to read the text. Click once and it should enlarge in a new window. Click a second time, and it will get even bigger.

Heading to a Sam's or Wal-Mart near you

Had a nice chat with the Marketing Manager of Revell this week, discussing book cover plans for my 3rd novel, The Deepest Waters. She let me know some exciting news. Both Sam's and Wal-Mart plan to carry my 2nd novel, The Homecoming, on their shelves soon. It releases on June 1st. As you know, they only carry a very limited selection of books, but have a huge volume of customers, so it's quite an opportunity. Click here to check it out on Amazon (scroll down a bit to read the intro paragraph...

Listen to a Sample of the Audio Book

I received an email that the Audio Book edition of The Unfinished Gift is finished, although still only available as a pre-order until April 13th. But you can click on this link at Oasis Audio and here a sample of the first chapter being read (click here). There are 6 CD's. It retails for $25.99, but I've seen it listed on Amazon for $17.15 and Christianbook.com for $17.99.

The actor reading the book is named Robert Mueller. Mueller is a well-known stage and television actor in Chicago. His ra...

The Deepest Waters it is!

I received an email from Revell's marketing department yesterday, informing me that the title team has decided they liked my title idea for the 3rd book. So it's official...my 3rd novel will be called The Deepest Waters.

This is a first for me. The titles I came up with for the first two books got changed during this process. With the first book, The Unfinished Gift, I liked their idea WAY better. For the sequel, The Homecoming, I still liked my idea better at first. But in time, I've warmed u...

Das Unvollendete Geschenk...say what?

I'm guessing most Americans won't know what the first 3 words in the title line mean. I'd be among them, except for one of the free online translator sites on the internet.

Das = The

Unvollendete = Unfinished

Geschenk = Gift

In German.

I received an exciting email from my publisher yesterday, saying Francke-Buchandlung GmbH, an organization based in Germany, has officially signed a contract with Baker Publishing for a German-language edition of The Unfinished Gift.

The book is already available in ...

More Audio Book News

I've just learned that Oasis Audio plans to release the audio book version of The Homecoming the first week of June. That's the same week the book hits the shelves.

That means The Unfinished Gift will come out mid-April, then 6 weeks later the sequel.

It's pretty exciting. I can't wait to hear who they pick to narrate the book and how it turns out!

Two Post-Holiday Developments

I had pretty much expected the activity for The Unfinished Gift to die down after the Christmas holidays, since it is a novel set at Christmastime. But we've had two significant developments in the last few weeks.

First, Oasis Audio, the biggest producer of audiobooks in Christian publishing bought the rights to both The Unfinished Gift and the sequel, The Homecoming. They plan to release the first as an audiobook this April (not sure of the release date for the sequel).

The second is...looks l...

A Blog Slowdown for a Good Cause

For those who've noticed, things have gotten pretty slow here on the old blog. That's because I'm busy working on my 4th novel and reworking my 3rd. That's a good thing, because both books are under contract with Revell and have a real deadline.

Hence, the blog slowdown.

The first draft of my 4th novel is due in August. I know, seems like a long way off. But my editor just sent me the 3rd novel, which I thought was finished back in August. She's come up with some great ideas to improve the stor...
