UK Release Dates, New Covers
I’ve made so many new friends in the UK, New Zealand and Australia thanks to Headline Publishing buying Because You Are Mine. Many of you have asked when Wicked Burn and other books from my backlist, as well as the One Night of Passion series, will be made available there. I’ve heard from Headline that they plan to release the One Night of Passion series–two novellas and two novels–within the first four months of 2013, along with Wicked Burn! I’ll be sure and give the exact dates once I know that information. They were also nice enough to send me the gorgeous new UK/ANZ covers.
I have some beautiful other covers for my backlist books. Drop me a line if you’d like to see any of them.

His arousal mounted as the water level hit her knees and then her calves and more and more of her goddess-like form was revealed. He didn’t normally photograph humans. They were so contrived in comparison to landscapes and wild animals. But this woman—this magnificent creature—was an exception. She epitomized natural grace. Sex was a primal, crucial part of nature, after all.
And she was sex walking.
She stood in the shallows, panting softly from her exercise, and brought a tail of long, dark hair around her right shoulder. She squeezed, releasing the excess moisture. He could hear the water dripping into the lake, see the droplets sprinkle on her heaving breasts. She slid her hand over the back of her head and released a restraining band. Wavy wet tendrils of hair fell around her shoulders and chest, coming within an inch of her voluptuous breasts.
He knew the precise moment when she realized she was being observed. Had she heard the click of his camera? She went still. He focused on her face. Her wet pink lips parted in dawning surprise. Her eyes were large and brandy-colored. They were trained directly on him.
He stood and looked at her with his naked eye. About thirty-five feet separated them. He’d photographed many a wild animal in locations across the globe. It was always an intoxicating, almost eerie moment when an animal first noticed him and, for a second or two, their awareness—human and beast, object and subject—melded.
Meeting this woman’s stare sent a thrill through him unlike anything he’d ever known. What would she do? Rush over to him and yell at him for his presumption? Scream? As far as he knew, there wasn’t anyone near the deserted location in the woods. The recent storm had chased most of the hikers and fisherman out of the forest. Perhaps she’d run. Something about her almost preternatural stillness reminded him of an animal before it took flight.
But then her arms fell docilely to her sides and her spine straightened, causing her breasts to thrust forward slightly. Otherwise, she remained immobile, her gaze never leaving him. He didn’t know why, but her open, unmoving pose triggered something in him. He didn’t know for certain if her posture was an invitation. It felt like it, though.
He bent to the camera and doggedly continued an impossible task—to capture the essence of a goddess.

Ryan heard a sound like omff and sprung up from his chair. Rushing around the partition wall, he saw a gray, short-haired cat zooming across the room toward him. He bent and scooped it up into his arms without thinking before it had a chance to tear behind the receptionist’s desk. When he straightened, he saw Faith in profile wearing a white lab coat, a skirt and pumps, her long, curling, dark hair rippling around her shoulders as she tried to restrain a scrambling Dalmatian puppy.
“Oh, no, Faith!” a short, blond-haired woman cried as she raced around the receptionist’s desk. “Put him down. You shouldn’t be holding a big dog like that in your condition.”
“It’s okay, I’m fine,” Faith managed to get out as she soothed the squirming puppy.
“Here, I have the leash. Stupid of me, I somehow disconnected him when I was trying to restrain him by the collar,” a frazzled-sounding, gray-haired woman in her fifties said as she grabbed Knuckles’s collar. She reaffixed the leash, and Faith bent to deposit Knuckles on the floor.
Someone tapped on his forearm and Ryan pulled his glued gaze off the vision of Faith. What had the receptionist meant when she’d said in your condition? Was Faith ill? he wondered anxiously. He handed Sheba-the-cat to a husky black man in his twenties, nodding once distractedly when the man offered his thanks.
Faith was giving the gray-haired woman a weary smile. “Just remember—shortest, locked position for the leash for future office visits, Mrs. Biddle.” She touched her belly as if to reassure herself.
It was a timeless gesture, and one Ryan immediately recognized. Lightening-quick reflexes were an absolute must for a fighter pilot, and Ryan was known for being one of the fastest responders. In that moment, however, he uncharacteristically froze. An iron hand seemed to have clutched at his lungs, making breathing impossible. A thousand images and memories swept past his awareness as if he were a drowning man. One seemed to linger on the screen of his mind’s eye: Faith answering the front door on Christmas Eve, her long, curling hair spilling around the snowy white robe she wore, her smile radiant, her large green eyes shining with emotion.
Ryan, I’m so happy you came.
Jesse would have wanted me to look in on you, make sure you were safe and sound.
He’d done more than just make sure Jesse’s widow was safe and sound, though. A hell of a lot more.
Faith looked around and saw him standing in the waiting room. The stretched seconds collapsed.
“Ryan,” she exclaimed in a shocked tone. The receptionist and all the patrons in the waiting room turned to gape at him. “What are you doing here?”
“I flew in for business,” he said shortly, referring to the new charter airline business he’d begun after leaving the Air Force last December. His gaze flickered downward over Faith’s belly before he met her stare again. He’d forgotten how vividly green her eyes were.
“I think we’d better talk,” he said.
She bit at her lower lip anxiously and took a step toward him. All the color had left her cheeks.
“Yes. I think we’d better.”

Release Day: Because You Are Mine Part VIII and The Soldier’s Baby Bargain!
The end has finally come for the Because You Are Mine serial! The feeling is very bittersweet for me; I’ve met so many awesome new readers and friends during this one, and had the opportunity to chat with them on a weekly basis about the installments. It’s been loads of fun. I’m looking forward to the release of When I’m With You, which will also be done in the serial format and will start to release in late January. Look for Ian and ‘Cesca to be featured in that one, and then I hope to do yet another full story centered exclusively on Ian and ‘Cesca following that. Stay tuned!
Today however, is still officially Francesca and Ian’s day! Let’s celebrate with them as they declare their love for one another.Look for Because I am Yours, available now!

Because I Am Yours, Advanced Excerpt
Oh, my. I can’t believe Ian and Francesca’s journey in Because You Are Mine is almost complete. My deepest thanks to all of you who took the trip with me. As I’ve said in several interviews, the serialization process made me feel so close to not only this story, but to the readers as I heard feedback from each installment on a weekly basis. I’ve never had a fresher, more vibrant writing experience. Thank you again.
A lot happens in this part. Here’s a tension-filled excerpt. For those of you unfamiliar with Ian, he’s a bit…worked up here, but I think with good reason.
Adult Excerpt: Because You Are Mine Part VIII
“How did you know where I was?”
“I’ve seen you several times with Dr. Epstein…once in Paris and another time at the penthouse. I heard her mention ‘the Institute’ and Mrs. Hanson told me that she was a doctor.”
He flashed a glance in her direction. “That’s not an explanation, Francesca.”
She shrank in the passenger seat. “I…I noticed that you’d visited the Genomics Research and Treatment Institute website several times while I was borrowing your tablet to study for the driver’s test.” Guilt made her wilt farther when she noticed his outraged glance.
“You checked my history?”
“Yes,” she admitted miserably. “I’m sorry. I was curious…especially about where you’d run off to so abruptly. Then Jacob told me you never took him to London, and I started connecting the dots.”
“Well, I could never accuse you of being stupid,” he grated out, his hands tightening on the wheel. “You must be so proud of your detective skills.”
“I’m not. I’m miserable. I’m so sorry, Ian.”
He said nothing, but his mouth was strained and his skin looked especially pale next to the contrast of his dark hair. His silence effectively stopped her from any more communications until they boarded the plane.
The pilot came on the intercom, saying that had clearance to take off.
“Sit down and buckle up for takeoff,” he said tersely, nodding toward the lounger where she usually sat. “But once we’re airborne, I want you in the bedroom.”
Her mouth fell open at that. Something in his tone told her exactly why he wanted her in the bedroom. She buckled her seatbelt with trembling fingers. “Ian, it’s not going to make you feel better to try and control me because you feel so…”
She trailed off when she saw his eyes flash in barely subdued fury. “You’re wrong. It’s going to make me feel fantastic to turn your ass red and ride you hard. You’ve been on the pill long enough now. I’m going to fuck you raw and come so deep in you, I’ll be spilling out of you for days.”
She flinched, not because of his crudeness—under different circumstances, his raunchy talk would have aroused her. But it wasn’t another circumstance. He’d said what he’d said to intentionally hurt her for having the temerity to see him at his weakest.
“You wanted to gape into my private world, fine. Just remember that you might not like what you see,” he said quietly.

Interested in One Night of Passion and Want the Series Order?
Interested in the One Night of Passion series, but confused by the release order (not to mention the change from Bethany Kane to Beth Kery in some books, and not others?) The publisher has decided to phase out the Bethany Kane pen name, but the transformation is in process. The stories themselves are unchanged, however, so if you follow the reading order itself, you will have a seamless experience. As an aside, each story stands on its own and can be appreciated on its own.

Because You Are Mine Part VII Available Now!
Part VII, Because I Need To, is a favorite installment for me because it’s so romantic. I’ve been putting up a few favorite lines or pieces of dialogue from the current part when it comes out, so here are a few:

Francesca shut her eyes and inhaled through constricted lungs. “Ian’s behind me, isn’t he?” she whispered to Lucien. Lucien’s flattened expression was her answer.
She twirled around on her stool, anxiety rising in her. He stood between the entrance of the restaurant and the portion of the bar where Zoe and she sat. The sight of him ripped a jagged, deep crack in her defenses. Longing welled up in her, so strong it stole her breath.

“I thought they would make you happy. The paintings.”
* * *
“It was for me, too,” he finally said.
Her bewilderment deepened.
“The best day ever.”
