Biannual Reading round-up

It's that time again, the second half of what proved to be a very good reading year. If you missed my top 10 from the first half of the year, here's the link... https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

My top 10 books from months Jun-Dec in the order I read them are (drum roll please)...

1. Crow (Boston Underworld, #1) by A. Zavarelli and the rest of the books in this series just keep getting better and better.

2. The Rules (Off-Limits, #2) by Elizabeth Brown Lambo, 'nuff said.

3. Kiss the Sky (Calloway Sisters, #1; Addicted, #2.1) by Krista Ritchie I can't tell you how much I loved this book. Connor will always be in my short list of BBFs.

4. It Ain't Me, Babe (Hades Hangmen, #1) by Tillie Cole Not my usual read, MC and dark. I loved it!

5. Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan Another great book by Tijan.

6. Reasonable Doubt Full Series (Reasonable Doubt, #1-3) by Whitney G. Really enjoyed this series.

7. Blaze (Dark in You, #2) by Suzanne Wright Of course, Knox makes the list.

8. Roses & Rye (Toil & Trouble #3) by Heather R. Blair My favorite series of 2016. It's a must read!

9. Vines (A Killers Novel, Book 1) by Brynne Asher LOVED this book. Moo!

10. The Boyfriend Makeover (The Boyfriend Chronicles, #3) by River Jaymes I stalked Amazon for 2 years waiting for this book to come out. So happy it didn't disappoint.

11. With Us (Amato #1) by Layla Frost Okay I'm going to cheat a bit here. This book doesn't technically come out until Jan but I read it in Dec. So guess what? I get to list it twice. Once now and once more on my next round-up. It will be no hardship. This book deserves to be mentioned twice, it was that good. 5 plus-plus-plus stars...

Houston, we have a problem...

Please bear with me because this may be a wee bit wordy, but I promise it will be worth it to stick until the end.

So, as you know, I wanted to give my holiday novella, Enchanting, away for free for the month of December as a gift to you, my readers. I was so excited about this plan, I failed to investigate all the finer details, one of which, Amazon won't let you list a book for free. I could wait for it to get priced matched but that does me no good because I want it for free right away.

So my solution to this problem is, I put a downloadable PDF file on my website that can be accessed from any device. http://sarahcurtisauthor.wixsite.com/...

I did a test run by going to my website from my Kindle and downloaded it without any problems, but if for ANY reason you can't download it to your device, PLEASE just PM me here or on FB https://www.facebook.com/sarahcurtisa... and I will send a copy to you.

One more thing, then I'll let you go. When I downloaded the original file to my Kindle, the 12 point font was microscopic, and because it was a PDF it couldn't be adjusted (or if it could, I don't know how to do that), so I blew up the font. It's still small, but at least it's now legible. I would like to apologize if the font is too large on an iPad. I don't have one so couldn't check to see what it looked like.

I know this was lengthy, so if you're still with me, thank you and hope you have a happy holiday ♥

Free for the holidays

Happy Holidays ☺

I've gotten many requests over the last two years to tell Stephanie Willis's story. For those who don't remember, Steph is Alexis's BFF in Alluring. Well, I've done as requested and just in time for the holidays. I've written a special holiday novella, Enchanting, to be released December 1st, sharing Steph's story.

As a holiday gift and thank you to my readers, Enchanting will be FREE for the whole month of December. After which, starting January first, it will be .99 cents and on KU.

If I could thank every one of you personally, I would. Without you, taking a chance on a new author like me and leaving such wonderful reviews, I'm sure I would have given up after Alluring. Thank you for helping me live my dream. I could never thank you guys enough.

***Warning*** As you know, I write insta-love but being a 20k word novella, even for me, Enchanting is insta-love at its quickest. It's also an OTT nod to Cinderella meant to be slightly unbelievable but 100% fun.
I hope you enjoy reading Steph and Max's HEA as much as I enjoyed writing it <3

Biannual Reading round-up

Back in December, I made a post of my top 10 books of the year. Looking at my shelves, I realized I already had a top 10, and the year is only half done! So I got the brilliant idea to change my yearly top 10 to a biannual top 10. Now I can share 20 books that I loved Whoop Whoop! So here you go, my top ten so far this year.

1) Sixpence & Whiskey (Toil & Trouble #1) by Heather R. Blair I cannot tell you how much I loved this book. Book 2 comes out in just a few days, and I'm very impatiently waiting. Heather R Blair, I need me some more Jack!

2) Best Kase Scenario (Hyde, #2) by Layla Frost I was eagerly awaiting this book and Layla Frost did not disappoint. Loved it.

3) You Don't Own Me (The Russian Don, #1) by Georgia Le Carre Book 1 & 2. Just when I think I've read my favorite book by Georgia Le Carre, she goes and writes my new favorite book!

4) Burn (Dark in You #1) by Suzanne Wright You can't go wrong with a super sexy, dark demon!

5) Amour Amour by Krista Ritchie Love these ladies but this was a favorite for me by them.

6) Him (Him #1) by Sarina Bowen This was a great duet. I enjoyed the first book more than the second, but they were both very goods reads.

7) Vespertine by Leta Blake Beautiful love story.

8) Little Memphis (Little Memphis MC, #1) by Bijou Hunter Another great duet. I enjoyed both books in this series.

9) King & Tyrant by T.M. Frazier Loved this whole series. Can't wait to read Rage!

10) Six of Hearts (Hearts, #1) by L.H. Cosway This was a new to me author, I'm so happy I discovered.

balderdash

This is my messy desk...

description

If you zoom in, you might be able to read some smut :)

description

So as I'm contemplating how exactly I want Cole to ravish Abby (Yes, sex scenes are much more exciting to read than write), I'm noticing how messy my desk really is and realizing, after 46 years of life, I'm a slob (I'm sure my hubby has come to this realization eons ago).

I've decided I'm blaming this on my mom. Okay, okay. I know what you're thinking, the word "cliché" springs to my mind too, but in this case I honestly believe it's true.

My mom is a clean FREAK. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm just trying to rationalize why I'm such a slob, I went the exact opposite of her. I think she has OCD but back in the day, it wasn't called that.

I remember when I was younger, walking into a room and finding her on her hands and knees picking lint off our dark brown carpet. I know what you're thinking, again! Yes, we had a vacuum and a dust buster. I don't know why she did this, faster maybe?

But the one thing I know for sure, my grandkids like coming to my house better (bahahaha). Here they can dump a bag of popcorn and accidently spill their glass of apple juice and I don't FREAK out (smart me, I know I'm a slob, my house has all tile flooring) unlike at my mom's house where when they come to visit, I'm sure she's got her cell phone out ready to hit speed-dial for the carpet cleaning guys.

So what is this all leading to? Not much really, hence the title of this post, but I do think I'm going to spend the afternoon cleaning my desk (after Abby gets her orgasm, of course) :-)

#‎TeaserTuesday‬

Untitled WIP by Sarah Curtis

Thought you guys might like to meet Cole :D Beware: This is unedited!

A loud chorus of, "Mornin' Coles," filled the air, drawing her attention to the newcomer walking through the door. The direction she was sitting, she only caught a glimpse of his profile before she had his back. He seemed tall and had broad shoulders that tapered into a trim waist covered by a white, form-fitting t-shirt that left nothing to the imagination. He walked with a swagger on long, powerful-looking legs encased in a pair of faded blue jeans, scuffed, brown cowboy boots peeking out the bottoms.
By the time she finished her appraisal, he'd already reached the counter and was handed a cup of coffee to-go. Fascinated by him, she watched as he reached into his back pocket, pulling out his wallet, his arm muscles flexing, drawing her eyes to the powerful display.
In a blink, he was facing her. He wore a cowboy hat pulled down low, but their eyes collided. He paused mid-step, and she felt her cheeks heat, knowing she'd been caught staring. She quickly lowered her eyes, staring sightlessly into her coffee cup. Her heartbeat picked up speed, his eyes feeling like a heavy weight on her shoulders. She refused to look up, barely breathing until she sensed his presence gone.
Slowly, barely lifting her head, she scanned the room, letting out a long breath when she didn't spot him. Her hand shook as she raised her coffee to take a sip and she placed the cup back down quickly before she spilled. She'd never had a lot of interaction with men. None had caught her eye for her to make the effort and the few times men had approached her, she'd made an awkward mess of things, making her and the interested party highly uncomfortable.
But she'd never had a reaction like the one she'd just had. Her heart had literally stopped for a few beats before starting back up with a painful rhythmic thump, increasing in speed as their eyes stayed locked. He was achingly handsome with strong features and a square jaw sporting a few days worth of beard. His hair on the longer side, curled around his ears and partway down his neck mostly concealed by his hat, but it was his eyes that had held her spellbound, unsure of their exact color from so far away, all she could tell was they were light with an outer ring of something dark. Stunning.
Just because she was shy, didn't mean she was blind, it just meant she would never act on her feelings. As in never ever. Her hands shook harder just thinking about it. But she did wonder what it would be like, to be like one of the heroines in her books, finding true love and living happily ever after. Abby sighed, maybe someday. Just not today.
