August

I'm really going to miss August 2017. With the Edinburgh Book Festival, our Parisian jaunt and then Manchester Pride, it's been absolutely brilliant.

September means getting back down to work. I've some big Doctor Who-related commissions to do, and some adaptation work... and then it'll be about getting down to a new novel project, which I've got outlined and ready to go...

And there are some new things coming out in the autumn too, to which I've contributed - such as Terry Molloy's book about his bear Monty, for which i've drawn all the pictures - which you can order here. And there's Puffin books' 'Doctor Who - Tales of Terror', which features two stories by me - including my first-ever story about the Daleks! (My second-ever story about the Daleks will be in 'The Dalek Book' from BBC books in October.

Also in October we'll have the launch of 'Baker's End' part four on CD and download from Bafflegab - with Colin Baker making his debut inside the furry onesie of the King of Cats...!

Lots going on... i really love Autumn. But I'm so going to miss August.

Just looking at the flyer for Levenshulme Pride and it's ...

Just looking at the flyer for Levenshulme Pride and it's upsetting to think I'm going to be away for the whole thing! If I was here, I'd be at *everything* that's going on - Kate Bush Yoga and Wendy Orr's themed pies; Darren J Ruddick playing guitar, Rylan John Cavell's quiz show and the discos and the march and the karaoke and the spoken word stuff and Stephen M Hornby's play-reading... and drag queens and bbqs and Rebecca Cotter's tea party at Shine Hair... and male strippers and loads of other stuff. Instead I'm just gonna have to do my best and enjoy myself at the Edinburgh Book Festival.... I will do my *very* best to do a great lecture on Ray Bradbury and to read from my latest novel with Joan Lennon reading from hers... and to have a nice time seeing lovely friends - even without Jeremy Hoad and Bernard Socks ..!

Last night, just before this busy weekend kicked off... we went to Central Library in Manchester and we saw the fab Gerry Potter perform. He was launching his new poetry collection from Flapjack Press. I drew him while he was doing his turn...

Support me on Patreon!

I've just launched myself on Patreon...!

This means for paying as little as three dollars a month you can read work-in-progress by me and see drawings and paintings. I'm planning to publish all kinds of stories and adventures there, and it'd be great if you joined me... Here's the link to my page - https://www.patreon.com/Paulmagrs

The first thing I've posted is the opening of a story set in Paris that I've been working on... about a seagull called Pierre who lives by the river and fancies himself as a detective.

The First Levenshulme Pride!

Next weekend is the first Levenshulme Pride! I'm gutted because I'm in Edinburgh, doing two events at the Book Festival (and having a wonderful time I should think..!) - but I wanted to draw this silly picture anyhow, to celebrate our Levy Pride! Hurray! x Please *share* and tell everyone about this amazing Levy weekend!
