Funny Old Game

I have been told I will have some actual comics news to pass on to you tomorrow. Which I'm sure will make a nice change.

Funny thing about comics: for the last several years, I've either been doing Marvel comics whose artists are then moved on to more profitable enterprises, or I've been doing books at Avatar mostly using relatively new European and South American artists because that's Avatar's preference.

So this opportunity to do a graphic novel at a book publisher popped up the other...

RED Poster 4: That Nice Old Man Will Cap You

He's always the nice old man. Even when he's playing the occasional villain, you still kind of want him to win because he's that nice old man. He's Nelson Mandela's movie stand-in, for god's sake. In the RED film, too, he's a nice old man. Apart from the whole killing-people thing.

Malkovich RED

The next RED poster.

John Malkovich is actually the sweetest guy on earth. So utterly not what you'd expect. Meeting him is one of my fondest memories from my set visit. Just a lovely bloke. Not that I'd want to be anywhere near him if he had a gun in his hand, mind you.

Your Cheery Thought For The Day

There's an extinction event on Earth every 27 million years. It's a cycle. And we don't know what causes it.

But we're in the middle of the cycle right now, so we've got about 15 million years to work it out.

Enjoy your day.

TWO-STEP Collection – The Cover

The collection of TWO-STEP by me, Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti is out in November, and this is the lovely lovely new cover Amanda cooked up for it with color artist Paul Mounts.

You know how this project started? I'd worked with Amanda before — on a Vampirella thing, just because I wanted to write something for Amanda, because she's brilliant. And a couple of years later I got an email from Jimmy that read, I swear: "Wanna write something for Amanda and I? We both think you don't...
