Scorpio Intensive: Beyond Sex and Death, 29-30 October; 31 October-1 November 2016, (Merizzo, Italy)

Astroshamanic workshop with Franco Santoro.

Scorpio is the sign associated with the taboo aspects of life, including the esoteric and deep features of our passions and desires, death, ancestors and our relationship with unseen realities, which profoundly affect our everyday life.

The workshop explores the theme of relationship from a multidimensional perspective, which includes the traditional theme of the Scorpio cycle, death, passion, rebirth. We will use advanced practices of astroshamanic soul retrieval, exploring shadow aspects and the rapport with our ancestors.

We will use the astrological chart as a living field to explore experientially the key elements of our passion, how to activate and direct it towards what we consciously choose to create in life. The event takes place during the New Moon in Scorpio and Samhain.

The workshop on 29-30 October 2016 can be followed by two days of deepening (31 October – 1 November 2016), when we explore deeper features of Scorpio and of our connections with ancestors

When we address our ancestors we relate with the most ancient parts of ourself. Ancestors, besides giving us support and guidance, can also hold major grievances and pass down destructive models of behaviour or belief systems. Such grievances constitute the root cause of all our current, as well as collective, problems in life.

When strong conflicts develop among couples, lovers, friends, relatives, colleagues or people casually met, what actually happens is that the same conditions that once engendered separation and pain are being reproduced in the present for correction.

These situations are momentous for healing as they allow to face the opportunity to invert the trend of separation, to forgive and open up portals in my conscience.

We will employ the astrological chart as a map to identify and explore experientially and shamanically the healing dynamics of our relationship

The workshop involves a deep process of recapitulation and energy assessment of our human interactions, with the aim of gaining empowerment and wholeness, supporting and implementing righteous relationships aligned with our authentic soul purpose.

Participants will learn to use healing tools that allow them to continue the healing work autonomously after the workshop, providing a solid basis for more advanced practices.

The workshop consists of one weekend (29-30 October 2016 ), followed by an advanced workshop (31 October – 1 November 2016).

By car: take A15 (Autostrada della Cisa) Parma/La Spezia, exit at Pontremoli if you come from the North, or Aulla if from the South. Continue to Villafranca in Lunigiana, then to Merizzo (5,20 km). Once in Merizzo, use as reference the Church of the Archangel Michael. 50 metres after the church turn left at the little parking square then take the only path to the left. After one km you will receive our parking. See: Map

By train: you can arrive to Villafranca/Bagnone railway station with the line Milan-Livorno or La Spezia-Parma. Let us know your time of arrival and we will pick you up.

By plane: the closest airport is Pisa’s Galileo Galilei. Also the airports of Florence and Genoa are close.

New Moon in Cancer

The New Moon in Cancer takes place at 11:00 GMT on 4 July 2016 and in 12° Cancer 53′. This is the moment when Sun and Moon are exactly conjunct. With the New Moon, or Lunation, an old cycle ends and a new one starts.

Each lunar cycle starts with the New Moon, reaches its climax with the Full Moon and ends with the next New Moon. The sign where the Moon is positioned at the initial New Moon determines the energy and Intent of the entire cycle. For example, with this New Moon in Cancer, the whole lunar cycle will be characterised by Cancer topics, also when the Sun moves in the adjacent sign Leo. The current New Moon’s astrological sign (Cancer) embodies both the features of the Intent and the way of dealing with the release process of the previous cycle.

The New Moon is a period of transition when the seed is present, yet it has not taken a definite form. At this stage dreams or insights, and also prominent situations developing at a physical, emotional or mental level can provide clues about the upcoming form.

The New Moon is an active phase, with the male energy being prevalent. It carries a new awareness and a shift of perspective. This allows to set the Intent and foundations for new projects or to release old cycles and grievances. Yet, since the whole scenario is obscure, it may be a time of vulnerability and uncertainty.

This strongly encourages abstention from relevant enterprises or initiatives in the outer world. It is an ideal moment to relate with one’s multidimensional self, or Guide, to take some rest and reflect upon the lessons of life, to release what is no longer needed.

The general question here is: “What do I truly want?” In the context of the current Cancer New Moon other questions may be: “What is the true purpose of my current life in a physical body? What are the sources of nourishment and support of this purpose? In which way can I provide nourishment and support for others and the environment? Where do I come from? What talents have I inherited from my ancestors and how can I use them in the present? What grievances have I inherited from my ancestors and how can I heal them?”

On a New Moon questions require an honest answer, which is not conditioned by general or cultural ideas about what is desirable and strictly refers to one’s own uncontaminated awareness.

During each New Moon it is empowering to tap into the energy of your Intent at a shamanic and visionary level. This may be strategically done through a specific journey and the astroshamanic Basic Ritual of the Sacred Cone.

Be aware of your Intent, no matter whether it appears as a sheer illusion or fantasy to your ordinary mind. This is not the time to be pragmatic or to be concerned about how to accomplish things. It is the moment to open up to your pure Intent, as you fully envisage it with no limitations. Later, as the cycle progresses, there will be chances to refine the Intent, orienting it towards manifestation and understanding its practical implications.

At its core level Cancer concerns the search and finding of the primary roots and the original Intent of our presence in a physical body. Here we have the chance of voyaging into time and space, experiencing and healing most ancient mythic recollection, revisiting ancestral lineages, releasing blocked energies and gaining understanding about the collective Intent that truly motivates our life.

You can activate authentic and vivid memories that allow you to pinpoint true needs and release others based on grievances and oblivion. Just as in the ordinary life there are places and people that give temporary shelter and nourishment, also in the non-ordinary realms there exist similar areas. Yet their protection is not based on time and space. It is founded on other patterns of dimension and can be eternal, abundant and unlimited.

There you can receive free and unconditional love, gradually releasing my co-dependence to the perception that has produced the ordinary world where you believe to live.

In astroshamanic work the position of the Moon plays a significant role as it provides clues regarding the lineage and the ancestral initiatory path or mystery school the person has already experienced.

This area, which the individual is likely to have mastered in previous times or parallel realities, represents an essential foundation for the realisation of the basic Intent in this current life or dimension. At the same time, it can easily cause addiction, attachment or misuse if its acquired potential is not focused within the present path of initiation, which may differ considerably from the previous one.

The Moon carries the most ancient and significant memories of our life on this planet. It is often related to places and times that appear either as the most attractive or repulsive. As such, it holds the key components of shamanic recapitulation, which is practice that significantly fits with a Cancer New Moon.

Vision

Do you keep dreaming about a vision that involves joining forces with other human being, the environment and the unseen world? A vision that can allow you manifesting your true purpose in life, helping others to do the same? A vision that although it appears impossible, hopeless, beyond your capacities, would truly give you and others the greatest joy you can conceive? Do you acknowledge that manifesting this vision is the top priority for you now?

If the answer to the above is “yes”, I would be delighted if you would share your vision with me because also my answer is “yes”.

And even if your answer is “no”, for you feel confused or unclear at the moment, and yet you would like to have that vision, I would still be delighted if you would share what is going on with me because at times I also feel confused and unclear.

In pain

Some people believe that if you have a hard time in life and are in pain this is because there is something wrong with you.

It is due to your bad conduct, psychological issues, karma, or in a nutshell it is your fault.

I wonder if the reason people have a hard time in life and are in pain is entirely due to this belief.

Exile

Life is a relentless expulsion from where we come from and an ongoing deportation to alien realms. We are in exile and our greatest dream is to return to the lost land. It is the greatest dream because no matter how long our exile is going to last, the dream will remain. It is the greatest dream because when we finally care only for this dream, then our exile will be over.

This workshop takes place in an unknown space and time. If you wish to take part, please sign up by the deadline (11 July). The venue and time of the workshop will be agreed by participants. The workshop will take place in a given venue and time, yet it is also possible to take part by Skype.

There are infinite realities and states of consciousness. There are also ecstatic dimensions of love, power, peace and pleasure, where you can uncompromisingly experience whatever you choose to experience. It is entirely up to you to decide what you can be and do, including where and with what or whom. While you can purposefully experience what you want, you can also choose to surrender to any experience which is beneficial for you and the environment, even if you don’t know what that experience is.

This workshop aims at reawakening your multidimensional nature and your capacity to navigate into space and time. Through the use of simple and natural astroshamanic practices we will connect with space of deep power and expanded awareness, retrieving vital parts of our soul and paving the way for their fruitful integration and expression in everyday life.

Cancer

The glyph represents two small circles merging from a semicircle and facing each other. This image suggests the crab’s claws, the shape of two nourishing breasts and also the idea of a whirl between conflicting energies that fight and block themselves. It is similar to the Chinese yin-yang symbol, describing the creative complementarity of opposites in the dualistic universe of separation. The glyph also depicts the fusion of the spermatozoon with the ovule and the entire process of gestation as creative expression at various levels. In the spiritual realm Cancer leads to the birth and acknowledgment of the inner child. The symbol includes the numbers 6 and 9, representing the Waning Moon (the circle generates the semicircle or spirit generates the soul) and Waxing Moon (the semicircle generates the circle or soul generates spirit).

This sign starts with the Summer Solstice, i.e. the point of the year when the Sun reaches its most southern position on the horizon of the northern hemisphere. This time marks the longest period of daylight north of the equator, while south of the equator it is the longest period of darkness. In ancient times the summer solstice was the time in which the Sun god or representative was ritually sacrificed to the Great Mother so as to begin his journey in the underworld.

The Summer Solstice constitutes the turning point of the light half of the year. In the natural cycle it is a time of ripening and stabilisation after the intense growth of spring. It is a period of care and precaution inspired by the apex of the Sun’s light and the awareness of its forthcoming descent into darkness. After the strenuous labour of the past months, now I can begin to harvest the fruits of the seeds that were planted in spring.

In the midst of a busy schedule, Cancer says: “That’s enough! I need to take a break and nourish, and be nourished by, all that I have created so far”.

The cycle of the year turns the corner and uncovers the inner work that awaits me. According to the Orphic tradition, Cancer is the threshold through which the soul enters into its present life. The Egyptians, who began their year in this sign, regarded Cancer as the soul’s gate into incarnation. Many other ancient teachings also referred to Cancer as the Gate of Men, the portal through which all souls descend from the heavens and assume human bodies. It is an area where I can deeply connect with the true motivation that brought me on Earth, and learn to distinguish it from all other objectives that do not pertain to my original awareness.

Places of power

If you intend to awaken and develop your true multidimensional nature and authentic potentials, if you are determined to release your perception based on separation and the related grievances, you need to go to special places in this and other worlds, areas of power, ecstasy, healing and deep transformation.

There are many places of power around the world. There are also lots of places of power in unseen and alternative realities, as well as in your own consciousness. When you spend regular time in these places or states of consciousness it increases your capacity to move beyond the perception of separation and unveil the mysteries of who and the world around truly are.

Since ancient times the physical territory has been used for healing purposes, promoting holistic and multidimensional awareness. You don’t need to go very far to find places of power. Places of power can be purposefully generated through your shamanic interaction with other human beings and the environment. You can choose an area near where you live and transform it into a place of power.

When you go to a place of power, you can have a large variety of experiences. You can meet higher beings or parallel selves that can provide help and support so as to heal your limited perception of who you believe to be. You can gain clear awareness of your gifts and potentials, uncovering hidden treasures. You can also face aspects of yourself and the world you live in about which you and consensus reality are in deep denial. This may be frightening and overwhelming, yet necessary since what has been repressed needs to come to the surface if you truly intend to know who you are.

Places of power are areas where the physical, third-dimensional and ordinary realities meet with the spiritual, multidimensional or non-ordinary realities. They play various functions. and most of them operate as gateways or gaps in or out of our perception of this world. Some power points were created or promoted by ancient cultures; or were the manifestation of events caused by nature spirits, multidimensional or unseen beings, while some are the result of recent human actions, which may either reactivate previous power points or create new ones.

Places of power can be broadly divided into three categories:

Known power points: public spaces and holy sites used to perform rituals or sacred activities, for example temples, churches, chapels, dolmens, menhirs, stone circles, etc. All human traditions have sacred sites and ceremonial lands. Some of them are widely known, at least in the local environment, others are less known, as they have not been attended for ages or are only visited by few people. Others are basically unknown and belong to the following category.

Unknown power points: you may discover these places “by chance” or intuitively. Some common phenomena that may occur in such places are: feelings of unity with the environment, calmness and slowing down of time, expansion of the aura or a sense of embracement by some larger presence, altered states of perception, loss of identification with the ego. Also the feeling of being observed by somebody as you walk, for example, in a wood or by a river can often indicate that you are in a sacred site.

New power points: these are places that shamans, healers and devoted seekers have chosen for their healing work. For example, any place where regular and significant healing practices, such as the Basic Ritual of the Sacred Cone, have been held for a certain amount of time, especially if involving other people, may become a new power point.

Please be aware that these three categories are not absolute and may blend in many circumstances.

Since 1976 I have been engaged in exploring, activating and managing places of power worldwide, also leading thousands of people in this search.

One of my main focuses concerns the creation of Astroshamanic Healing Grids, which are holistic webs, linking all features of the landscape together, including land, buildings and whatever or whoever is in the territory. They can cover small areas ranging from a building and its land, such as the Astroshamanic Healing Grid at Findhorn Foundation Cluny Hill, to a municipality or large city.

Through Astroshamanic Healing Grids everything and everyone can become a source of information regarding where we come from, where we are, where you are going, and most of all about who we are. With this work you can learn to pay attention and be alert to all that happens within and without you. It is an incredible tool for developing a deep holistic awareness.
