#TuesdayTreasures with Theresa Lynn Hall @theresalynnhall
Good Morning!
Well, we've made it to Port Angeles, WA and visiting Olympic National Park. Next stop will be Concrete & Cascade Ntl. Pk then on to Montana. I'll be sharing another west coast vacation post on Thursday, meanwhile, please welcome Theresa Lynn Hall back to our blog with something she treasures!
A Special Treasure
I never thought much of time when I was younger. Twenty years away seemed like an abstract amount of time. I was living minute to minute. It felt like I had all the time in the world before twenty years would come to pass. Looking back, I’m grateful for my ignorance. If I had only known how quickly it would go by I would been sad.
My oldest son is now twenty-one and is a police officer. My youngest graduates next year and is planning a future in the military. My babies. My little boys. Had I known then what I know now I would have fretted over every single day that passed, knowing it was going to fly by and one day be only a memory. I guess it's a good thing our kids keep us so busy. We don't think about them growing up and moving on. Time has become precious to me now and I think I grow more sentimental the older I get. Not just about time or memories, but also about things. I know all moms are sentimental about things their kids give them. I have a cedar chest full of school papers, pictures, baby clothes and who knows what else from the years when my boys were growing up. Each and every memento means the world to me, but there’s one special gift that my kids gave me when they were young that touched my heart—an engraved locket with the single word “MOM” on the front of it. They begged my mother to find this for them so they could give it to me. I’m not sure where they had seen it or how they knew exactly what they wanted, but my mother searched high and low for this particular locket until she finally found it. What an awesome grandma! Ironically, I hardly ever wear it because I’m so afraid of losing it! It means the world to me and I treasure it more than any other necklace I own. Now that my boys are grown, I look at the little things like a locket, an “I love you, Mom” note in big chunky handwriting, a picture they drew me, and I wonder where the time went. How did they grow up so fast? How did twenty years pass in a blink? I just don’t know. Now that they’re grown, and taking on jobs of brave men in a dangerous world, I pray for their safety and God’s protection over them. They will probably never know how much I will always treasure the little “Mom” locket they gave me so many years ago, or know how much I love them until they have children of their own. God says that we are chosen by Him, his special treasure. I don’t see myself as a treasure. How could God treasure a sinner like myself? Still, He does. And I am so blessed to know He sees past all of my sins and has chosen me as His treasure.Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.What a wonderful gift, Theresa and definitely something to treasure! Hello from Packwood, WA!
It'll be a month tomorrow that I started my west coast vacation. You can see where we've been so far by visiting these four posts: #1, #2, #3, #4. I'll be sharing more with you next week.

Barbara M. Britton was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, but currently lives in Southeast Wisconsin and loves the snow—when it accumulates under three inches. Barb writes romantic adventures for teens and adults in the Christian fiction and mainstream markets. She is published in Biblical fiction and enjoys bringing little known Bible characters to light in her stories.
Barb’s debut novel, “Providence: Hannah’s Journey,” released in October of 2016 from Harbourlight Books and kicked off her Tribes of Israel series. Her second book, “Building Benjamin: Naomi’s Journey,” released in April of 2017. Her Biblical fiction series will continue in November with the release of “Jerusalem Rising: Adah’s Journey.”

Love Grows Where God Grafts the Tender Shoot.
Naomi desires to dance well enough to catch the eye of a wealthy landowner. Her father needs a substantial bride price due to the deaths of her brothers at the hands of the tribe of Benjamin. But when Benjamites raid the Ephraimite feast and capture young girls, Naomi is bound and carried from her home by Eliab, a troubled shepherd who needs a wife.
As Naomi awaits rescue, she finds Eliab has a strong faith in God and a just reason for abducting her. A reason that affects all the tribes of Israel. The future of the tribe of Benjamin hangs in the balance, but if Naomi follows her heart and stays with Eliab to rebuild his lineage, she must forfeit her family and become a traitor to her tribe.
Excerpt:
Eliab uncoiled the rope. “Isa tended my father’s flocks with my brother, Joshua. His word is trustworthy.”
“Must you bind my hands?” Her wrists ached at the thought of the prickly cords.
“You fled from me into the cave. Do I have your word that you will not run from me again?”
Should she vow submission to Eliab? What if she had the opportunity to escape? Were they near the border? Near the lands of the tribe of Benjamin? Or still in the land of Ephraim?
Eliab grabbed her hand and tugged her close.
“Wait.” Should she agree? Her confidence began to crumble. “What did I do wrong? Would you not have gone off to help Isa if you thought he were in trouble?”
“Yes, I would have gone.” He snapped the rope and removed the gag from his satchel.
Saliva pooled in her mouth. She would not be bound like an untamed animal. Not again.
“I will not run away.” She spat out the words as if spitting sand from her mouth. “Do not bind me.”
She punched Eliab’s chest. He did not move. Not one step.
He caught her arm, encircled her waist, and lifted her onto the mule.
“Rest, Naomi. You are a tower of stones. The mule listens to one master.” Eliab’s arms closed around her, holding her next to his body. His tunic wasn’t the most comfortable bed, but his body was warm, and up until this point, he had not harmed her.
She prayed her father would find her before Eliab desired a union and made her his wife.

Hello and Welcome!
Well, June is behind us and California is in my rear-view mirror. We spent the last couple of days in Prospect, OR and visited Crater Lake National Park. I'll be sharing photos from that in a couple of weeks. Still have memories to share from three other parks in CA. Anyway....we're on the road to WA today to visit those 3 National parks!
Last month I introduced to you a brand-new-to-me author, Megan Whitson Lee. Today Megan returns to share some thoughts with us....

My grandmother introduced me to books. She was a voracious reader and devoured a book day. She encouraged me to read the classics, but she read romance novels like they were “going out of style” (one of her favorite sayings).
Up until a few years ago, I only read women’s contemporary fiction. I wanted real-life situations with realistic characters who had realistic problems and sought realistic solutions. When I began to write for publication, I joined writing communities, met other authors, and attended writers conferences. I quickly learned that there were genres I didn’t even know about. I was familiar with science fiction but had never heard of speculative. New adult, Amish, mail-order brides, and cowboy romances were completely unknown to me. I’d never read romantic suspense…and what in the world was steampunk? As I made more writer friends, I wanted to read their books, which led me into literary territory both foreign and exciting.
As a result of expanding my reading genres, a funny thing happened—my writing changed. Suddenly, a little romance crept into my story-lines. I stopped worrying about absolute realism, and allowed my characters to be a little more natural in their reactions. And I was completely taken aback when a fight scene slammed into the middle of my work-in-progress. How did that happen?
Reading across a variety of genres is important for our own writing. It opens up new worlds and new ways of storytelling. Different genres allow us to envision unfamiliar scenarios, characters, and settings and moves us out of our safe corral. It’s easy to fall into the rut of using the same descriptions, tag lines, and characteristics. Maybe introducing a character to an alternative world doesn’t make sense for our story, but a character’s strange new work situation or her escape to a prayer closet might use the same sort of descriptors. Techniques are transferable.
Read everything. Writers support each other, learn from each other, and our writing is better for it.

#TuesdayTreasures California - West Coast Vacation #4
Happy July 4th from Prospect, Oregon!
Last month I shared memories from my west coast vacation on Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlight.
So far we've visited Texas, NM and Arizona. On June 19th we traveled from AZ to CA for the first of 6 National Parks and 1 pretty famous lake. We've spent a little over 2 weeks in California and let me tell you, except for our last stop (which I'll share next time) the temps have been from the upper 90's to 120 degrees!
Our first stop was Shoshone, CA and Death Valley where we actually hit that 120 degree mark. I got a photo showing the temperature when we went into the visitor's center. When we came out it was 120, but I couldn't get a photo because a TV news station was there interviewing people (no I did NOT get on TV LOL!) We visited the Ashford Mill Ruins and the salt flat of Badwater Basin. Death Valley is the Hottest, Driest and Lowest (below sea level) point in America!
But the most beautiful part of this entire park is Artists Way & Artists Palett - some of the most colorful and beautiful rock formations you'll ever see! Here are a couple of photos but honestly they don't come near to doing this gorgeous place justice...
Upon leaving Shoshone and Death Valley, we went to Lemon Cove, CA and visited Sequoia and King's Canyon National Parks. We climbed Moro Rock (6275 feet!!) and saw the famous General Sherman Tree (Sequoia). This place is absolutely gorgeous too.
King's Canyon was mostly a driving tour of beautiful mountains and valleys...up, down, twisting, winding roads with luscious views and raging water...
I'm finding this country to be so much more than I ever dreamed and we've only scratched the surface of all the places to visit!
I'll share the other 3 National parks with you next time (Yosemite, Lassen Volcanic & Redwoods) but for now I'm going to leave you with this short video of that raging water. It's only 30 seconds but if you close your eyes you can feel the energy and power....

#SaturdaySpotlight is on Carol Nichols & A Different Season
Good Morning from Red Bluff, CA!
We're heading to Eureka, CA & Redwood National Park today so I may not be around much but please welcome Carol Nichols back to our blog with her debut release, A Different Season ....
A Different Season opens in Oklahoma’s oil-rich countryside. The story finds Constance Sinclair, after the death of her husband by dubious circumstances, on the trail of his assailant which throws her into a murder. A stranger dupes Connie into thinking their chance meeting was all by happenstance and leads to romance and the final realization that she may be in love with a murderer.
Rosie Redmond, a co-worker, adds a comic interlude to the story as everyone tries to ascertain the workings of her mind.

Connie jumps while placing her hand over her mouth to stifle the urge to scream as the all too familiar rap tap tap can be heard from the other side of the door. Her mind races back through her thoughts and her previous feelings, which has consumed her every moment since leaving the police department. The thought that JJ has murdered that girl, and even if he hasn't he certainly knows something more. Then, as the thunder increases in intensity and frequency, so do her fears. She can hear the wind fiercely blowing as it tosses trees and limbs around beside her windows leaving ghostly shadows on her floor.

#ThursdayThoughts West Coast Vacation #3
Good Morning and Welcome!
Today we're leaving Placerville, CA headed to Red Bluff to visit Lassen Volcanic National Park.
On the 17th I shared with you the Texas leg of our trip, then on the 20th, New Mexico. Today I'd like to share Arizona with you!
We left TX and drove to Flagstaff, AZ, passing through the Painted Desert.
Although that was lovely, I found the Artists Drive in Death Valley much more beautiful - I'll share pics from there later! Now let's get back to Arizona....
We stayed in Flagstaff for two reasons....Grand Canyon and Sedona. Here are some pics from the Grand Canyon.

I must say, the Grand Canyon is one of our greatest treasures as are all of the National Parks and IMHO, if anyone can stand on the edge of this precipice and not be overwhelmed at the grace and beauty of our earth....well, I just don't see how anyone can not be overwhelmed!
Anyway, that's the AZ leg of our west coast vacation. Next we'll visit California and there's LOTS to share from that state alone so be sure and drop by each week for Tuesday Treasures, Thursday Thoughts and Saturday Spotlight!

Good Morning!
Well, we leave Coarsegold, CA & Yosemite National Park today, heading for Red Bluff and Lassen Volcanic National Park. I'll be sharing another update on my West Coast Vacation on Thursday and then at least once a week in July until I've shown you some of what I'm experiencing on this extended road trip.
Meanwhile, please welcome Nikola Dimitrov to our blog. He is a new-to-me author brought to us by PrimeStar Publicity.
In 1992 Nikola Dimitrov experienced a miraculous conversion, receiving Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Since 1995 he has been a full-time minister of the Gospel, serving as pastor, Bible teacher, preacher, and Christian educator. He started his first church in 1994, which is still standing today, and in 1998 he began his traveling ministry. Nikola is currently pastoring several church groups in Bourgas, Bulgaria and is frequently sought out as a speaker around the country. He also serves as a Bible teacher at the Apostolic Kingdom Institute in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria.
As editor-in-chief of Vetil Media Ministry, Nikola has translated and published more than thirty books into Bulgarian, as well as writing some himself. He then encourages his congregations to take responsibility in word and deed toward that end. As a translator, Nikola has also produced and distributed around the nation nearly 1000 Bulgarian versions of audio and video teachings by famous foreign preachers and teachers.
As part of a charity in Bulgaria, along with other volunteers, Nikola takes care of needy people from the minorities, distributing clothes, food, medicine, and school materials to children.
Nikola is married to Helen, and they have two lovely young-adult daughters, Annie (which means grace) and Mikaela (which means who is like God?). Both are part of Nikola and Helen’s ministry, serving in the area of music.

Hey, guys, I’d like to justify the title of my book: “The Four in One Gospel of Jesus”. The Rabbi Rev. Eric Walker, when interviewing me, made a very good point: There are not 4 gospels, when You consider the meaning of the word Gospel (Good news). There’s only one Good News, and that is the fact that there is a new King of kings and Lord of lords - Jesus. So, the 4 gospels are actually one Gospel of our King and Lord. It’s interesting how many Christians associate the Gospel only with Salvation (going to Heaven when we die), when the Bible, in every single place, talking about the Gospel, calls it: The Gospel of the Kingdom. Yes, there is Salvation, Healing, Deliverance, Protection, Provision and Victory in Jesus, but these are all by-products of the fact that the Good News are the Good News of the King Jesus and His Kingdom, HERE and NOW. Check out for Yourselves: And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. - Matthew 4:23 (The preaching of the King and His Kingdom brought healing and deliverance in the Present) And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. - Matthew 9:35 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. - Luke 4:43 (This seemed to be Jesus’ calling and… …Our mission is pretty much the same - to proclaim that there is a New king of kings in our world: - Jesus, not Mammon (deceitfulness of riches, secular cares and all kinds of other things)- Jesus, not Pharaoh (bondage over the mind, spirit and body)- Jesus, not Jezebel (perversion, adultery, fornication and corruption)- Jesus, not Ahab (apathy, not assuming responsibility, lack of character and stamina)- Jesus, not the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21, about which the Bible says that that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. It does not say that they will not be saved, but that they will not be effective for the Kingdom, e.g. will not be able to witness, heal, deliver and live victoriously.- Jesus, not the devil, sin or idolatry. Still not convinced? Let’s see what the first century men of God would preach: - John the Baptist: “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near”- Jesus: “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near”- The disciples sent by Jesus: “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near”- But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. (Acts 8:12)- And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. (Acts 19:8)- And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God,… (Acts 28:23) There are so many more Bible Scriptures to back up my point, but I think the above are enough.
Why do I say all that? Because, to have a bird’s eye perspective on the life of Jesus - the King of the Kingdom, chronologically and contextually - will help us be more effective for Him. That’s what The Four in One Gospel of Jesus provides. God Bless You!

Then again, decked out in his medieval splendor, Seth also looked calm, commanding, and ready for battle. When he drew his sword and saluted the spectators, the crowd went wild.
Someone booed as Elias strode to the center of the arena. Furious, Tempest got back on the speaker system. “Everyone down the right flank, where our gallant medieval knight is now, you’re Team Seth. The rest of you are Team Elias. Come on, let me hear you shout.”
A child responded, her high-pitched voice carrying over the crowd. “Go, Seth, go!”
Slowly, one half of the crowd took up the chant.
A lone voice on the other side of the arena yelled, “Come on, Elias!”

I'm running late with my post so won't take too much time talking about my trip. Suffice it to say AZ & CA are Hot, Hot, HOT with temps in the triple digits!
Today's guest has a career just as hot.
Award-winning author DiAnn Mills combines an adventuresome spirit with unforgettable characters to create action-packed novels. DiAnn’s first book was published in 1998. She currently has more than 50 books in print, which have sold more than a million and a half copies and appeared on the CBA and ECPA bestseller lists.

4 Ways the FBI Assists Other Agencies
The FBI works with local, state, federal, and tribal law enforcement to investigate and share information to help solve and prevent crime. Through the following services, they are an integral federal agency dedicated to the wellbeing of the United States and global allies.

In my new series, FBI Task Force, I needed accurate information as to how the FBI assists other agencies. The following came from my friend Shauna Dunlap, Special Agent/Media Coordinator for Houston’s FBI.
1. The FBI’s national and local Joint Terrorism Task Forces. (There are JTTF’s in each of the 56 field offices.) These small groups of agents do everything required to run down leads, train, gather intel, and everything in between.
2. Under the Attorney General Guidelines, the FBI is able to assist local, state and other federal partners investigating federal crimes or threats to national security. For example, the FBI assist’s other agencies investigating violent acts or mass killings as noted in federal law: 28, USC 530c 9b) (1) (M) (i).
3. Intelligence information sharing
4. Criminal justice information services

#TuesdayTreasures found in Santa Fe, NM - West Coast Vacation #2
Good Morning!
Saturday, I shared some vacation memories from the TX leg of our West Coast trip. Today I'd like to share treasures found in Santa Fe, NM....
Santa Fe is HUGE in the arts so if you love to look and shop and gaze at sculptures, paintings and museums - it's a mega treat for you.
I love art but not enough to spend hours traipsing about in the heat to simply gaze. However, I did get to visit 4 historic places....
#1: San Miguel Chapel....The Oldest church in the United States. Filled with history, it is still an active place of worship today.
#2: Loretto Chapel....the church with the miraculous staircase. I tell you this was my favorite place despite the commercialism of it. They have an entire hotel, spa and other businesses attached and associated with the chapel, and it is definitely a stunning site. This statue of Jesus is absolutely breathtaking and His eyes truly reflect the love He has for you! No trip to Santa Fe is complete without visiting this gorgeous place of worship.
#3: The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis is one of my favorite saints of all time. His Peace Prayer, is absolutely life changing. Everything about this cathedral was beyond description. Again, despite the commercialism of the place, you could really feel the presence of God and St. Francis in this holy place.
We also visited the DeVargas Street House (the oldest house in Santa Fe) and ate at Upper Crust Pizza.
All in all, our trip to Santa Fe was amazing and definitely memories to treasure!
