“Tears of grief are unique. They contain chemicals that aren't found in the more mundane droplets of moisture that bathe the eyes, as if our tears wash us free of some noxious cause of sorrow. And tonight, after crying until I am empty, I have a rare glimpse of my own interior landscape - wounds piled like tiny skeletons into the reef of conscious adult life. I am aground amid my conquered traumas, stranded as a consequence of my achievements.”

If a bunch of people can get Betty White to host Saturday Night Live seems like we can make a great book(s) a bestseller.

I liked how you didn't over-explain the medical stuff as I found it really annoying in Josh Bazell's "Beat the Reaper" (very obvious he was an intern.) I could also relate to the propensity to mull a case over and over until you think you know what really happened.
The plot twist at the end came totally unexpected to me, and I was sad that Dr. Heaton's romance ended, but as a plot device it was intriguing.
Can't wait for your next book!
