Good day!
Are you enjoying the podcast? If you would you be so kind as to let me know, I would very much appreciate that. I love hearing from you.
This is chapters 6-7 with some of 8 because I got excited about Match.com. We were baking bread in the house yesterday during recording.

As Much Protein as An Egg – Episode 3

Welcome to episode 3 of As Much Protein as an Egg. I hope you’ll enjoy. Feel free to start HERE if you missed the first episodes. It’ll get you all caught up.
This week I give you ch. 3-4 and some shout outs to old friends, one of whom is Gomyo the Hoodie Monk. Check out this track off his latest CD. He brings the rhymes and paint from Japan by way of the US Midwest originally. Gomyo has been a listener since Jack Wakes Up.
Props, man!
His other recent video “Light Up” comes here. Well done!
Hope this finds you well. Strange times indeed! Take care of yourself and yours.
I also mentioned the newest Great American Novel, Valentine, by Elizabeth Wetmore. Right here!
Check out Jenna Bush singing its praises.

Talking Books and Sneakers on Local Radio

Have you been looking for a quick and fun listen? Haven’t heard from me in a while?
Well, here in the cold of December, I have a throwback to the summer heat and my interview on local radio station WRSI The River – “Where different is good.”
Here in the Pioneer Valley, we have a unique radio DJ who has reached super hero status. He’s named Monte Belmonte. That’s his name, he’s on the radio, AND he’s basically the most famous guy around. Really! That’s the power of Monte and radio here. We have that sort of small-town vibe. Even in 2020. Believe it.
This summer I met him, respected his kicks, which turned out to be thrift store specials, and we got to talking books and more. Turns out he became a fan of The Maltese Jordans.
Here’s the complete conversation during drivetime radio in the morning. Enjoy!

Stockbridge (MA) Maltese Reading
Click to hear or download me reading two chapters of The Maltese Jordans at Stockbridge Coffee & Tea (and Bookstore) on July 11, 2019.
I read with my good ole buddy Dan Pope, author of In the Cherry Tree and Housebreaking. Dan’s a wonderful author and worth your immediate reading interest.
The sections I read are from The Maltese Jordans, which you can buy here or get in full audiobook here.
One really fun thing about this reading: two listeners and fans from my Podiobooks.com days (almost ten years back!!) showed up to hear the reading. Olive “Raindance” McGloin and Darrell Johnson hiked the entire Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada — And back! — and spent a lot of that time listening to podcasts/Podiobooks. In fact, they listened to all of my novels on synchronized iPods/iPhones! Awesome! I haven’t bumped into fans/listeners like these in a long time!
Now they’re spending a few months in the Berkshires and came out to see me read. It was awesome to meet them. You can read more about them here. Olive was the first woman to ever complete a consecutive hike of the Pacific Crest Trail BOTH WAYS! It’s a hike 5x longer than the one Cheryl Strayed completed in Wild. Just sayin.

New York City Reading
Back on May 14th I read from The Maltese Jordans in New York City at the legendary Mysterious Bookshop. Visit them on Warren Street downtown whenever you’re in the Big Apple! We had a great event — lots of fun, good times, lively Q&A.
Enjoy the video of my reading here and if you want to watch the full Q&A that followed, you can see it here. Enjoy!
