Pringles again…

I was in my local supermarket and noticed the ‘two for the price of one’ offer on Pringles so that seemed like a very good opportunity to stock up my supplies.

I bought the Roast Turkey flavour and the Sausage & Crispy Bacon flavour. To me there is a hint of ‘stuffing’ flavour with the Roast Turkey ones. What do you think? Do you like the flavour?  I bought the Sausage & Crispy Bacon flavour too because I rather liked the Smokin’ Bacon flavour but I haven’t been able to get hold of those ones recently and I wanted to taste this variation.

I think this is a very good offer and I didn’t just buy two tubes, but considerably more… Well, I wouldn’t want to run out of Pringles would I? I’m always on the look out for new flavours.

What’s your favourite?

Recipe for Tiramisu…

I know there are so many recipes for this delicious Italian dessert, but I’d like to share my grandmother’s recipe with you.

Ingredients:

½ kg (1lb) Mascarpone cheese

8 eggs (separated)

8 tablespoons caster sugar

1 packet Savoiardi biscuits

Espresso coffee

Brandy (optional)

Method:

Whisk the sugar and egg yolks together until frothy. Add the mascarpone and mix together. If the mascarpone is a little stiff beat it with milk before adding it to the egg and sugar mixture to make it light and creamy. Whisk the egg whites until very stiff. Fold the egg whites into the mixture. Take a cup of cold espresso coffee, to which brandy may be added if desired, and dip the biscuits very quickly into the coffee just to coat them. Put a layer of biscuits on the base. Cover the biscuit base with the cream mixture and continue this making layers of biscuits and cream finishing with a cream layer. Refrigerate for at least several hours. Before serving sprinkle with cocoa powder.

This makes a very large party dish and should serve about a dozen people. This recipe is also suitable for freezing.

Buon appetito!
