Action. Romance. Shocking Secrets. #PNR

Waving hello! Hope October’s been amazing so far and that you’re revving up for All Hollow’s Eve. While I don’t have a Halloween release today, I’m super thrilled to announce Thorulf is now available (and it definitely has some chilling moments!). I had a blast writing it, but then I’ve always enjoyed my more feisty, turbulent couples, and Thorulf and Jade certainly fit the bill. They took me on more of an adventure than anticipated and threw some twists at me I didn’t see coming. Loved it! Hope you do too.

About the Book

Determined to travel back in time to medieval Scandinavia like her sister, Jade plays nice and stops causing trouble. Or so she leads everyone to believe. In reality, she has recalled more than she’s letting on and biding time. Plotting ways to have revenge on a Viking that’s been toying with her in dreams, whether he remembers it or not. A Norse dragon that deserves every bit of havoc she intends to unleash on him.

Set to confront the woman accusing him of playing games with women, Thorulf heads to the future. Unfortunately, as he soon learns, she told the truth. More alarming still, he might have been spending time with their alluring enemy to spite her. Now he has to make things right. That means figuring out if Jade’s his destined mate so he can harness the power of Loki’s dagger. A task easier said than done when Jade’s feistiness turns his world upside down.

Caught in a passionate tug-of-war, Thorulf and Jade must work together to discover how much their nemesis has infiltrated their lives. How much power she has over them and the ongoing godly war threatening humanity. Will they get along to figure things out? Or is the division between them already too great? Find out as they navigate a shrouded past steeped in shocking memories in the continuation of Viking Ancestors: Forged in Fire.

Adventure, Intrigue & Epic Romance. #PNR

It’s official! Dagr, the next book in my Forged in Fire series, is now available. For those who read Viking Ancestors: Rise of the Dragon and remember Dagr and Thorulf as children, you shouldn’t be surprised to find them as competitive as ever now that they’re adults. So competitive that they’ve found themselves in one heck of a love triangle!

Fated mates caught in a wicked love triangle...

Maya always knew she was meant to travel through time to help humanity in some unknown way. She would never have guessed it was to keep them safe from warring gods. Nor that she would straddle two worlds, caught between life and death, her only hope a Viking from the distant past she craves but can't have. A dragon prince with too dark a lineage.

Determined to make Maya his, Dagr Sigdir heads to the twenty-first century only to discover she's half immersed in Helheim, the Norse Underworld. Son to its ruler and certain he's her fated mate, Dagr's the only one who can free her from its dark hold. Or so he thinks until someone far more challenging than mere death stands in his way. His closest friend and brother-in-arms, Thorulf.

Will Dagr step aside if Thorulf and Maya are destined to be together? Or will he fight to claim his mate and risk his people's safety? After all, if Maya doesn't end up with the dragon meant for her, they won't harness the power needed to battle the deities. Find out as Dagr, Maya and Thorulf embark on a super-steamy mystical adventure for the ages.

Teaser

“He’s coming.” Maya narrowed her eyes on the stormy ocean, feeling both Dagr and Thorulf drawing closer. “They’re coming.”

“Stay back.” Aunt Elsie entered one of her psychic trances, and her eyes changed. She blocked their path before they headed onto the deck. “They’re not all that comes.”

She was right. A crow landed on the railing outside and looked directly at them. Chills ran down Maya’s spine. Typically, animals flocked to her, but this was different. The crow represented something sinister.

Something coming for her and her sisters.

Confirming her suspicions, all hell broke loose seconds later.

Thunder cracked again. Lightning struck the ocean at the end of the dock. Fire roared and swallowed the room whole without causing any harm. Then boom, it sounded like a bomb went off before the harmless flames retreated back to the hearth, leaving the room just as it had been.

Well, almost as it had been.

“Oh, my God,” Trinity exclaimed when two huge Viking warriors with black fur cloaks appeared out of thin air and ordered them to stay back. Blades at the ready, they rushed onto the deck only for the crow to release a banshee-like scream and vanish.

Maya’s vibration might have been on the road to improvement, thanks to Trinity, but it plummeted in a flash. Was it because of the men or the crow, though? Because that bird had been unnatural.

Too queasy to be frightened, she sank onto the couch. She hated this. Loathed feeling so controlled by her fluctuating vibrations. Being so blasted unstable.

Especially in front of strangers.

“Are you okay?” Trinity sat and put an arm around her shoulders. Caught between awe at the Vikings and concern for her sister, Trinity's worried gaze flickered from the men to Maya. “Why don’t you lie down again?”

“No, I’m okay.” Completely out of character, she shrugged off her sister’s comforting touch and squeezed her eyes shut. “I just need a second to find my balance.”

“Sigdirs,” Aunt Elsie barked out the door, her voice different. “Get inside. Let Thor deal with her.”

Thor? But of course, Thor. Who else controlled thunder and lightning? Who else considering the war between the Norse and Celtic gods? While they hadn’t seen direct evidence of it here, the weather had been more and more unstable. Like climate change on fast forward.

“Now,” Aunt Elsie roared. “You are not strong enough to deal with her yet, cousins.”

Cousins? Who was possessing her aunt? How dare they?

“Get out of my Aunt Elsie,” Maya growled, barely recognizing her own voice. Her eyes snapped open. Red hazed her vision, making her more nauseous still, but there was no stopping it. Her inner dragon roared up. Her fury became unrecognizable. The strength that filled her dark and protective. So protective that she couldn’t differentiate between her aunt and what possessed her. Only that it didn't belong.

So she attacked…only to slam into a hard wall of muscle.

“Stop, Maya.” Strong hands clamped around her upper arms. “She’s temporarily possessed by my kin. No harm will come to her.”

Crippling, foreign arousal shot through her, followed by more rage. She didn’t need to look into his face to know who stopped her. His essence was all-too-familiar.

“Let me go, Dagr.” She looked anywhere but at him, refusing to gaze into his dragon eyes again. Refusing to get sucked further into the darkness. She tried to pull away, yet he held fast. “Let me go, or I’ll…”

“You’ll what?” he taunted when she trailed off. His voice was as deep as Thorulf’s, and his scent masculine. Like spruce mixed with spice. Delicious and tempting.

Way too much.

Had she detected amusement? Did he think this a joke? Her a joke? Unfortunately, she couldn’t lash out if she wanted to because her anger only made her weaker.

He only made her weaker.

“Let her go, cousin,” Thorulf warned while Trinity held, of all things, a taser at the ready.

Rather than look at Dagr, Maya's gaze went to the safety of Thorulf. While she’d expected him to be attractive, he was better looking than anticipated with black hair and dark, sensual eyes. Jade had said Destiny’s mate Leviathan was ‘hot as hell,’ yet Maya had trouble believing it would be true of the rest of them. Not when they weren't just dragon but Viking. Which meant their vibrational level had to be low by default, their personalities prone to negativity.

“Do you think us that bad then?”Dagr murmured, back in her mind uninvited once again.

“Stay out of my head.” She yanked free only to make the awful mistake of looking at him. Of seeing his human half. Incredible blue eyes and chiseled features that belonged nowhere near a man of his vibrational level. Features doomed to morph.

Even with men who looked as good as Dagr and Thorulf.

It was inevitable. Males of her species simply didn’t appeal to her and would eventually change how she saw them physically. Dagr’s sun-streaked dark hair would dull. His dimples would fade. The twinkle in his devilish eyes would turn shallow. His tall, broad-shouldered build would become overbearing. Too much where now it was powerful and appealing.

“That’s enough.” Back to herself again, Aunt Elsie shot the men a warning look. “You two need to give Maya space. Now.” Her eyes narrowed on Dagr, pegging him as the one who dragged Maya down the most. “Especially you.” Despite being half their size, she shooed them away from Maya like a mother hen and lobbed questions at them. “Who was just in my mind? What were they talking about? Who was that crow?”

“You were in contact with Destiny before we arrived, yes?” Dagr asked instead of answering. “So you know our main enemy is Mórrígan, the Celtic Goddess of War, Fate, and Sexuality?”

Though he spoke to Aunt Elsie, Dagr’s steady, near predatory gaze never left Maya. Thankfully, the more distance her aunt put between them, the better she felt. Her inner dragon fell back, and her nausea and weakness lessened. The storm outside, however, only seemed to intensify. Rain fell in heavy sheets. Lightning zigzagged in angry steaks across the sky. Thunder crashed so hard it shook the house.

“We should not remain here long,” Thorulf warned Dagr before Aunt Elsie could respond. His dark gaze swept over the horizon. “Mórrígan follows the dagger and puts those here in harm’s way.”

That dagger.” Aunt Elsie’s gaze homed in on an ancient-looking blade sheathed at Dagr’s waist. “The same blade that appeared on our hearth and swept Destiny back in time.”

The same dagger that would forge fated dragons in fire, dooming them to be together life after life, for all eternity. The thought of it sickened her. Not so much the romantic angle. That was sweet enough. If it were with a human, not a dragon, that is. Why would she ever want to be reborn a dragon time and time again, never mind end up with one over and over? It sounded like an endless prison sentence.

“You must have gotten along well with Destiny,”Dagr remarked, clearly not caring she didn’t want him in her mind. “She disliked what she was at one time too.”

Maya felt both nausea and that same irritating burn under her skin at the sound of his internal voice. Like disgust and desire rolled into one.

Love dragons? Brand new shifter romance! #PNR

Hi there! Hope you enjoyed last month’s historical romance release, To Tame the Lyon because I’m back with another hot-off-the-press read! This time I'm swinging the pendulum back to time travel fantasy romance as my Viking Ancestors launch a brand new series.

The children born of Viking Ancestors: Rise of the Dragon are all grown up and, like their predecessors, fighting to save their people once again. Where my previous Viking series brought fated mates back together life after life, Forged in Fire brings them together for the very first time. So not as much backstory but plenty of plot.

The series begins with Leviathan and Destiny, who some may know from previous stories. I first ‘met’ Leviathan in Rise of the Dragon and have been dying to write his tale ever since. Little did I know his heroine would come on scene in The MacLomain Series: End of an Era nor that they would take me on such an adventure! No worries, though. You don’t need to read the previous stories to understand this one. It stands alone. Definitely a must-read for those who enjoy shifters, action-packed time travel, and sizzling hot romance.

Excerpt

As dumbfounded as she’d been when she saw it from afar, Destiny looked up at the castle towering over her. It wasn’t a typical Viking structure but something more sinister yet somehow alluring. Blackened wall walks curved around dozens of towers, and spires shot toward the sky.

“Though he calls it the Realm’s, welcome to what everyone calls Leviathan’s Keep behind his back,” Freya informed. “Because he does so much for us. Gives us safe harbor.” She grinned. “He built it to Múspellsheimr standards to make its dragons feel welcome. All dragons, for that matter.” She glanced at Leviathan with pride. “It’s seen many battles over the years as dragons grew into their own, but in the end, it’s always been a place of resolution and accord. A place where dragons can act like themselves among their own kind.”

“Impressive.” She meant it too. This place was something else.

She eyed people as they made their way toward an ancient-looking grand staircase leading to a behemoth door flagged by massive torches. Though everyone looked normal enough, Viking to the bone, she could feel the fluctuating animalistic energy in the air. Leviathan nodded to many in passing but said little, his expression hard though his eyes were cordial enough.

“It’s safe, but he still doesn’t want them out here, does he?” she murmured. “He’s worried about them.”

“Every hour of every day of every year,” Freya said softly. “Endlessly.” Her knowing gaze slid Destiny’s way. “Not many see that so clearly.” She considered her. “Or better put, feel it.”

“My necklace then?” Destiny hadn't missed the shocked glances that went from her face to her collar. Again, she felt the urge to yank it off, declaring her independence, and again, just as swiftly, wanted it right where it was.

“You know better than to ask me that.” Freya stuck close, making it clear to all they were allies. Friends despite having just met. “You knew him better than most before I put that necklace on you.”

“Perhaps,” she murmured, but Freya was right. Whatever had happened between them had bonded them together in a way she knew damn well he struggled with. Shestruggled with.

Yet it had happened.

Was part of them.

And it was locking them together more readily than a collar ever could.

The inside of the castle took her breath away with its stark, towering, regal yet gothic beauty. A massive octagonal great hall led to several long, spiraling staircases going in different directions, rising up so high she wondered if there were an end in sight. Endless cathedral-like stained glass windows depicting sweeping dragons were made more magnificent by the shimmering ash beyond.

“Look at this place,” she whispered in awe, not sure what to admire first.

Four behemoth hearths hosted roaring fires, and huge bowls of fire hung like chandeliers as high as the eye could see. The air smelled of smoke, lust, and roasting meat.

“It used to reek of sulfur too,” Freya said out of the corner of her mouth, “but Leviathan whipped things into shape and taught this bunch how to get their dragon breath under control.”

She bit back a smile. “Glad to hear that.”

Everyone might appear Viking with fur cloaks and pagan looks, but there was no mistaking the fire flaring in many a cat-like eye. Dragons peered back at her with such strong curiosity she knew her collar had made a big impact.

Where Leviathan had remained in front of them to this point, now he fell in beside Destiny. Not to introduce her but rather, from what she could tell, to claim his territory. There was no grand introduction that a time traveler had arrived but rather a pointed sweep from his stormy gaze, lingering on select group of males before he gestured that she follow him.

“Seriously?” she said under her breath to Freya. “Was that Leviathan’s way of welcoming me?”

“Yes.” Freya chuckled and linked arms with her, again making it clear to all they were friends. “And I’ve never seen him do it. Not once with anyone.” She winked. “Let alone a woman branded by his scale.”

“Ah, so that’s the official name for wearing this around my neck?” She snorted. “Sounds like ownership if I didn’t know better.”

“But you do know better,” Freya reminded. “You know this is all for show because you and Leviathan don’t do forever.”

Regency Romance Release! #HistoricalRomance

Waving hello! Hope everyone’s staying safe. Just wanted to share the latest. My first Regency romance has arrived. For those who read my Highlander’s Pact or Pirates of Britannia stories, this tale’s very loosely connected. Sort of a ‘what came of the MacLauchlins’ tale. Hope you enjoy!

Enter the world of the most notorious gambling den in London, where matches are made... unusually. Welcome to the world of THE LYON'S DEN: The Black Widow of Whitehall Connected World, where the underground of Regency London thrives... and loves.

Can a woman and her daughter heal the broken heart of a grieving man? Or will ghosts of old keep him forever distanced?

When her rake of a husband promises her to another before he dies, Clara Ainsworth, Duchess of Surrey, has no choice but to seek out matchmaker Mrs. Dove-Lyon and the protection of another marriage. More so, she must trick her childhood love, Isaac, into a union, not just for her sake, but his. At one time, he had been there for her, so she’s determined to return the favor and see him free of his self-destructive ways.

Having suffered more loss than most, Isaac MacLauchlin, Marquess of Durham, frequents the Lyon’s Den to drown his grief in liquor. Or so he leads others to believe. In truth, he’s keeping tabs on his lost love, Clara. So imagine his surprise when she tricks him into a marriage contract to avoid the results of a pre-duel agreement. Naturally, he will protect her, but marrying her is another story. It might come at too high a risk to his wounded heart.

Will Isaac and Clara be able to find their way back to each other and deal with the madman who might be on his way? Find out as the past merges with the present in a tale of regret, forgiveness, and new beginnings.
