Who Owns Who?

Last fall I was laid up with a back injury for 4 1/2 months and spent most of that time in bed.  That made my kitties very happy.  They got plenty of lap time and lovings.  Now I'm feeling better, but still need to rest my back as much as possible.  I bring my laptop to bed and try to do some writing or posts for the blog.  This working thing does not make Crystal very happy.  She was used to

The Challenges and Rewards of Writing Fantasy without Killing the ParentsDead parents are a long established literary tradition, especially in fantasy fiction. Interview with Thea Atkinson

Briefly describe your journey in writing your most recent book.  How long did it take you to finish that manuscript?First off, thanks so much for having me. The questions are pretty thought provoking, and I hope I'm articulate enough to deliver the answers satisfactorily.
My journey for Anomaly? Well, I've always found it difficult to talk about my writing process, mostly because it's a mystery

Interview with D.A. Boulter

Briefly describe your journey in writing your first book.  How long did it take you to finish that manuscript? My first published book, Courtesan, took approx. 8 years from first word to publishing.  That, however, doesn't tell the real story as I put everything on hold for about 5 years. 'Courtesan' came about from a throw-away line in my book 'Pelgraff', where one character looks up a reference

Guest Post: Some Thoughts About Thrillers

By Frank Edwards
Thrillers are, by their very nature, intensely plot driven.  It's the pulse of the genre.  The reader is kept in suspense by a knock on the door at the end of every scene, to paraphrase Zane Gray.  But we've all had the experience of being glued to a thriller into the wee hours, and one that may be well-regarded, unable to turn the pages fast enough, but yet at the same time

Guest Post: The Power of Positive Thinking

How do you define success?By Melanie Nilles
For me success is defined by what goals I set. I know what I want to accomplish and achieving that gives me a feeling of fulfillment. That is success.
The trick here is setting goals that are achievable. Never set them to high so that you can't achieve them, but never so low that you don't have to work hard. Goals should be work

When is it Too Much of a Good Thing?

Sundays are usually dedicated to something called #samplesunday.  For those of you who aren't on twitter, the hashmark in front of sample sunday helps those who want to read all the posts for a particular topic find them at once. The alternative is going through your main twitter stream which can be daunting if you have a lot of followers.

The idea behind sample sunday was the brainchild of
