Question 110: About ISIS

Question 110: Can you analyze ISIS from the point of view of oneness?

Yes, let’s start with what the Gospel of Oneness stands for, namely unconditional love for everyone, cooperation for the benefit of everyone, sharing of resources for the benefit of everyone, respect for all life, respect for all viewpoints, joy in living, equality of souls, no violence against others, free thinking, free speech and awareness of the dualistic traps of this world.

So let’s see how ISIS measures up. They are trying to force their will on their self-created enemies. They try to eliminate people who have different viewpoints about life. They even try to force the Infinite One into their mental box by saying that Allah supports their violence against other expressions of the One Creator God.

ISIS is acting as a dualistic force fighting for a relative goal of establishing an Islamic state. Their actions carry the seeds of their own destruction because they will reap what they have sown. Other dualistic forces have already and will rise up against them. Nobody really wins but a lot of people suffer needlessly, all for an illusory goal that can never be achieved by violence. The only ones who might temporarily benefit are the merchants of weapons and warfare.

The only way they can even come close to realizing their goals is to work for the benefit of all mankind in a peaceful way with service and love to all, and if they did that they might then adjust their goals to the reality of the oneness of all life.

Question 109: About being exclusive

Question 109: Isn’t saying “oneness with God is the only way to salvation” equivalent to saying that “Only belief in Jesus as your savior is the only way to heaven?” Both are exclusivist claims to the way of salvation and allow for no other way.

Here is the difference: Believing in an external savior is an external path. It is an intellectual and emotional acceptance of another person as your savior. If you think that such acceptance is the only way to get back to God, then it is indeed exclusive. And if you simply believe that realizing your oneness with God is your ticket to salvation, and is the only way, then that is also just an intellectual and emotional choice, and is also exclusive. However, we are not talking about belief, we are talking about actual realization. Realization is knowing in body, mind, and soul that you are one with God. It transcends any belief system.

You can follow Jesus and realize your oneness with God. You can follow Buddha and realize your oneness with God. You can follow Krishna and realize your oneness with God. You can follow Mohammed, Kabir, LaoTzu, Confucius and other saints or religions and realize your oneness with God. No one is excluded by what they believe. However, they are excluded if they have not yet realized their oneness with God. It is a process, apparently a long process for many of us, but it is always open and available to everyone.

Our own self-realization is the greatest service we can render the world. –Ramana Maharishi.

God is the only living presence within us, our only true bliss and freedom. Divine Nature, which alone is our ultimate being, has nothing to do with narrow self-interest or limited self-consciousness. Diving Nature can be realized and fully actualized in daily life by sincerely following any number of revealed paths. –Ramakrishna

Politicians and oneness

Hi Everyone;

We have high hopes for this new year of 2009, but not because of a new administration taking over our government.  Barack Obama is still trapped in duality, just as George Bush is.  We need some politicians who see the oneness of all life and who will speak up for the unity of all life and the dignity of the individual.

The reason we have high hope is because there are many people now waking up to the oneness of all life.  When we have enough people who follow the golden rule we will deserve leaders who are truly great people.  We may even influence our current leaders to transcend themselves into true servant-leaders.

Why I enjoy the oneness experience

Hi Everyone,

Today I’m writing about the pathless path to God that has never been formalized as a religion.

Realizing our oneness with God is the essence of all true religions.  The purpose of a true religion is to bring us back to God, and in the oneness of all life I feel I am part of God.  I feel I am in the love of God.  I feel I am in the joy of God.

There is no need to follow any doctrine or dogma since it is an inner experience.  However, people can do certain things to help them have the experience of oneness.  Going into a meditative state with an attitude of love for life will usually help.  Keeping that loving attitude during daily life will help.

Being in the consciousness of oneness helps me move past my ego and connect with my conscious God-self.  It helps me to introspect and see my own faults rather than the faults of others. It helps me to purify my own motives, and to forgive and to overcome jealousies.  And it helps me work for the good of all.

Being in oneness helps me see why it is so practical to live by the golden rule because  whatever I do unto others, I really do to my greater Self.  It helps me know for sure that the ends don’t justify the means because God does not need to do anything evil in order to bring about a greater good.

Being in oneness helps me know that the words of God come to us at every now moment of every day.  It helps me feel the unconditional love of God.  It helps me know that I am an eternal identity in God.  It helps me know the abundance of God because God is endlessly creative and I am a co-creator with God because I have free will.

Being in Oneness helps me know I have eternal relationships, and that is a good reason to love everyone and to make peace with them.  It helps me know that I will keep on growing and transcending into higher states of consciousness.  It helps me know that even though this body will someday return to the elements, my soul will move on to another type of expression.

Being in oneness helps me tune in with all of nature and feel connected to the trees, the mountains, the animals, the wind,  the whole earth, the sun and moon, the stars and the vast universe.  I have written a book about the oneness of life.  It is available at http://www.trafford.com/05-1691.  It is called Gospel of One, Letters of Aul.
