New Contract for Crewkin

In February, 2011, my ninth book will be released from MuseItUp Publishing, a science fiction novel.

Renna is the last member of her crewkin, children raised together to form crews for ships that can endure decades in space. She should have committed suicide and joined her crew in death. Not Renna. She is determined to somehow  survive in a 'norm' world totally alien to her. The Terran's ship, the Vagrant Spirit, might be the start she needs.

Stone House Farm Excerpt

Excerpt from Stone House Farm, a romantic suspense novel from Champagne Books April 10!

[image error] She walked the fence-lined track between two orchards that led to the pasture on the back acreage. Amanda stopped every few minutes and checked the way, trying to locate Noona. No hoof tracks marred the pristine whiteness, but at the end of the path Amanda saw the gate had blown shut.

Noona stood, head over the top rail, nickering welcome. Amanda walked up and placed a lead line on the mare's halter before ...

Cat Mandate

This morning I was finishing my tea, searching the internet for news, in other words, preoccupied. My cat, Gigi (short for complaining, grumpy,  grouch), jumped onto the desktop and was most persistent about walking over the keyboard between the computer screen and me--the shortest route to my empty oatmeal bowl. As she passed, she whacked me in the face with her tail. Muttering, I returned my attention to learning more about the features of girly men at the WSJ.

After licking the glass clean,...

Polished Treasures

A friend of mine, who is an avid fisherman and rock hound, polishes stones he picks up. All winter polishers run in his house, which would probably drive me crazy, but the results are wonderful. He gave me a bag full of polished stones. Pretty neat, huh? They were all picked up in this county, so it is amazing to see what lies beneath a stone's surface, and the small treasures just lying at our feet.  I keep them in a candy dish where I can enjoy them -- pick them up and feel the smooth surfa...

Keeping Face

Years ago for something to entertain kids, I wrapped the faces of my family in plaster bandaging and made masks. (Once started all the adults wanted to participate, too.) It was a fun project. Everyone slathered their face with Vaseline, put on a showcap and slowly had their face cast. It took about ten minutes and the rough cast bore a somewhat blunted but fairly accurate replica of each face. I painted many to look like masks.

It was a great project for kids because while your face was cover...

Linda Rettstatt's And the Truth Will Set You Free

I should have done this review three years ago, but life, as happens in this story, took a dive and I didn't get it done. I found the book in my file of digital editions and decided it was time to complete this obligation. I'm sure glad I did as it is a well worth reading.

And The Truth Will Set You Free
