Christmas Cakes & Mistletoe Nights @ Number 9!

Lovely people! So pleased to be able to tell you that my 30th novel, Christmas Cakes & Mistletoe Nights, has gone into the Sunday Times Bestseller list at number 9. Yay! Thank you to everyone who’s been out and bought it already. I have The Best readers.

This is particularly pleasing as it’s amid such tough competition. ALL of the big guns are out – Joanna Trollope, Andy McNab, Adele Parks, Ken Follett, Dan Brown and TOM FLIPPING HANKS!

And it’s Christmas in 70 days. I know…

C : ) xx

Fay and Danny are madly in love and it’s all Fay’s ever dreamed of. But she’s had to leave everything behind – including the delightful cake shop she used to run – to be with Danny on his cosy canal boat. And she soon finds out that making delicious cakes on the water isn’t always smooth sailing!

Then Fay gets a call that send her back to where it all began; back to where she first met Danny, back to her friends and the Cake Shop in the Garden. Even as Fay happily returns to dry land and her passion for baking, she knows it will be hard being away from Danny, especially with Christmas around the corner. But their relationship is strong enough to survive… isn’t it?

Paperback of Christmas Cakes & Mistletoe Nights

Lovely people! It’s been ages since I posted. Summer has been full of busy madness, but I’m back in the office now and looking forward to sharing my new look paperback with you.

Out in hardback last year, Christmas Cakes & Mistletoe Nights, has had a shiny new livery and is due to be in the shops on Thursday 4 October. Christmas is coming!

If you haven’t read it, then I hope you’ll enjoy it. The book is a sequel to The Cake Shop in the Garden, one of my most popular books so you can meet some old favourites and some new characters too.

Ruby Brown is ready for a change.

She’s single for the first time in years and she’s going to dive into this brave new world with a smile on her face and a spring in her step. The last thing she’s looking for is a serious relationship.

Mason represents everything Ruby wants right now: he’s charming, smooth and perfect for some no-strings-attached fun. Joe on the other hand is kind and attractive, but comes with the sort of baggage Ruby wants to avoid: an annoyingly attractive ex-wife and two teenage children.

Ruby thinks she knows what she wants, but is it what she needs to be truly happy? It’s about to get emotional in Million Love Songs.

A new Bardaid Library to be built!

Hello lovely people

My dear friends are raising money to build a volunteer library for teenagers with special needs at a local school. If you have a few quid burning a hole in your pocket, it’s a fabulous cause. They’ve set up a Kickstarter page for funding, so it would be great if we could help.

Bardaid are a collection of poets who have, over the past ten years, raised money through spoken word performances to buy books from performance poets and storytellers, which they have then donated into over twenty schools nationwide. To date they’ve donated over £4,000 worth of books and have had excellent feedback from both teachers and school librarians.

In May 2015 they set up a library in a broom cupboard in a special measures school in Hertfordshire as they’d previously had no library at all. A return visit in Feb 2018 showed that it had been so successful that they had since expanded the initial few shelves into a whole room.

In December 2017 Bardaid bought a dilapidated telephone box in Long Marston, renovated it and converted it into a community library.

On the 12th and 13th Of May 2018 they will be hosting a literary festival at the Victory Hall, Station Road, Long Marston, near Tring Hertfordshire HP23 4QP and The Queens Head, next door, in order to raise the money needed to turn a derelict stable at Animal Antiks School; a school on a farm for special needs children and young adults, into a library. The Stable Library will be their biggest project to date and is a much needed and long awaited addition to the school. It would be lovely to see you at the festival too. Put it in your diary!

Bardaid Kickstarter Project – please give generously here! C : ) xx

New year, new book!

Lovely people! A very happy new year to you all. What could be a better way to see the new year in than with a new book?

My latest novel, Million Love Songs, is out in hardback, ebook and audio on Thursday 4 January. I know!

This is a fun book to kick off 2018 and if you’re a fan of Take That – as, indeed, I am – then you’ll get even more out of it. I love the gorgeous spring colours of this cover and hope you do too.

I hope that 2018 will be a fabulous year for you all. Look forward to sharing it with you…

Love C : ) xx

Feel-good and full of emotion, Carole will make your heart sing with this glorious read.

After splitting up with her cheating ex, Ruby Brown is ready for a change. She’s single again for the first time in years and she’s going to dive into this brave new world with a smile on her face and a spring in her step. The last thing she’s looking for is a serious relationship.

Mason represents everything Ruby wants right now: he’s charming, smooth and perfect for some no-strings-attached fun, and yet Ruby can’t help feel that something is missing. Joe on the other hand is kind and attentive, but he comes with the sort of baggage Ruby wants to avoid: an annoyingly attractive ex-wife and two teenage children.

And though Ruby thinks she knows what she wants, is it what she needs to be truly happy? It’s about to get emotional in Million Love Songs.

Hitting the bestseller list!

Hello lovely people

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to hit the bestseller list with my latest novel, Christmas Cakes & Mistletoe Nights. With my 30th book, I’ve just sneaked into the Top 20 at number 20 – but look at the names on the list! Dan Brown, John Grisham, Bernard Cornwell, Tom Hanks (!), Ken Follett, Danielle Steele, John le Carre. Lynda La Plante and my personal favourite, Philippa Gregory – all of the big guns are out. I don’t think it could get any tougher.

So thank you all very much for dashing out to buy it. The paperback won’t be released until October 2018, so a long wait if you don’t snap it up now.

Thanks also for all your lovely reviews and comments. This is a follow-up book to The Cake Shop in the Garden so you’ll find some old friends and make some new ones too.  If you haven’t yet read it, you’ve got a Christmas treat to come!

Happy reading! C : ) xx
