I have a DARK SECRET!
I know what you’re thinking. But Rachel, you’re saying in the privacy of your own head, on which I am spying … you? A DARK SECRET? Is it …
… your barely concealed fangirl squee over Athos on BBC’s MUSKETEERS? BUT NO. That is not dark enough, my friend, though Athos is a well of dark secrets, ‘tis true.
Well, you think, maybe it’s one of those other characters she obsesses talks about. Like …
… um … well … um … no. Though awesome effort, Mr. Hawkeye. Just think about Budapest.
NO STOP IT SNAPE, though you have the darkest secrets of all, surely.
… I stand corrected, Loki.
STOP IT STOP IT ALL OF YOU! YES, YOU TOO, SHERLOCK!
This is not about fantastic broody characters, or the men who play them on the screen. This is about imaginary people with dark secrets!

YEAH. SO pretty. Prettier than my other potential dark secrets up there? MAYBE!
So … what is it? It’s an awesome collection of six novellas by six fantastic authors, each tackling the theme of “paranormal noir” … some will do it from a hot, sexy angle, others from more of a gritty, shadow-drenched direction. A great diversity of wonderful, original stories by some of the best authors of cool Urban Fantasy and hot Paranormal Romance in the biz!
Each of us will be talking about DARK SECRETS in turn, and this is my week … you can read about Megan Hart’s turn here and answer trivia questions here!
So what are each of these stories of which I speak? Well, here are a few details to whet your appetite …

MARION, MISSING by Rachel Caine
Valentine is a detective with two major problems: he’s been offered a kidnapping case that will probably get him killed, and his partner won’t let him turn it down. He owes her that much … since his partner’s a ghost, and he’s the one who feels like he got her killed. A dark, haunting noir mystery of love, hate and loss.
