Did You Know
Did you know, Thomas Jefferson had high hopes of bringing political harmony between the Federalists and the Republicans, the two parties of the day. That didn't happen. Politicians seldom even stayed at boarding houses or went to taverns that the other group frequented.

It's Tuesday

So,
I was talking to the granddaughter on the phone. They had recently moved to a different house. I said, "So you've got a greenhouse now."
She paused a moment then I heard her ask her mom, "Do we have a green room?"

Or in your garden?

The Arts Council had a gallery showing based on poems. Two artists choice one of the HH's.
Remembering a snow scene
The snowflakes fell steadily
Out of a pewter sky.
I stood at the edge of a meadow,
Just outside of the tree line.
There wasn’t even a hint of wind
To rustle some dried limbs.
Nor the flutter of wings
Or stutter of a squirrel.
If not for the falling snow,
It would have been as if
I stepped into some artist’s landscape
Hanging on the wall
Of someone’s entryway.
The total lack of sound
Created its own kind of
Sensation: the rotation
Of the earth as it hurled
Through the universe.
After forty years
The scene still lives
As pristine as ever
At the center
Of my consciousness.

What's on your desk? Got flowers? Dogs? Spoiled critters? Poems? Paintings?

With her non-fiction book for girls, Girls Succeed! Stories Behind the Careers of Successful Women, she returned to her first love, writing about real people. She satisfies that aspect of her character by presenting workshops on Creative Writing and Writing Your Life Story and creating a book for life storytelling, Your Words, Your Life Story, based on her workshops. JQ decided to take the advice she gives to her workshop participants to sit down and write their stories. BWL Publishing released her memoir, Arranging a Dream, in January 2021.
Blogging, photography, Pegs and Jokers board games, and travel are the things that keep her out of trouble. Did You Know
Did you know, Thomas Jefferson kept pet mockingbirds? Dick was his favorite and would sit on his shoulder, hop up the stairs after him, take food from his lips and of course sing to him.
