Did You Know

Did you know, love seats weren't originally designed for couples? They were designed to fit women with wide skirts.

The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecu...

The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Groupday. We post our thoughts, talk about our doubts and the fears we have conquered, and our struggles and triumphs. Hopefully we offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling.

The awesome co-hosts for the June 1 posting of the IWSG are SE White, Cathrina Constantine, Natalie Aguire, Joylene Nowell Butler, and Jacqui Murray!  Thanks, folks😊

June 1 question - When the going gets tough writing the story, how do you keep yourself writing to the end? If you have not started the writing yet, why do you think that is and what do you think could help you find your groove and start?

If anyone has a bullet-proof answer for this one, they could bottle and sell it.

My methods: I have a word goal for everyday so that I’m getting something down on paper. When I hit the ‘tough’ part I either go back to the beginning and read through to where I’m stuck; or I concentrate on scenery; or just let my mind drift for awhile and let my subconscious work on it. AND I only work for a month on a manuscript before setting it aside. By that point my brain is fried on story. I work on another manuscript for a month. The following month I work on another then circle back to the original.

What do you do?

May/June Reviews:

VOYAGERS: THE THIRD GHOST ANTHOLOGY by Yvonne Ventresca, Katharina Gerlach, Roland Clarke, Sherry Ellis, Rebecca M. Douglass, Bish Denham, Charles Kowalski, Louise MacBeath Barbour, Beth Anderson Schuck, and L.T. Ward.

A paranormal anthology that’s got something for everyone. Stories from ghosts to a Firebird.  The tales take the reader into the past and offer fascinating glimpses of history in the process.

Available at Amazon

SUNWIELDER by D. Wallace Peach

This story is set in mythical roman times and definitely not a comedy, but even so it reminded me of Groundhog Day. The protagonist dies over and over again. Our hero Gryff is an average young man with average dreams and aspirations that against insurmountable odds, and with the help of a sunwield medallion, becomes a larger-than-life war hero.

Even though he’s an honorable man, in his adventures back and forth through time, he comes to care deeply for two different women. I had no idea how D. Wallace Peach would work out this knotty, emotionally-charged issue to the characters, and my, satisfaction but she wraps up the story nicely with a HEA bow.

One of my favorite secondary characters was a flamboyant Edriisan named Tenney who fights at Gryff’s side.

SUNWIELDER is an immersive read that I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Available at Amazon.

It's Tuesday

 Greetings Blogger Buds,

I am dragging, er,  giving you the chance to visit the garden....again.

Lookee, Lookee. I bought this little guy hoping for a fall bloom since it's a rebloomer but thinking it would more than likely be next spring before it bloomed.  We got five inches of rain--Thank the gods of the universe--in three days and a bud popped up. This is supposed to be a blue Iris, I got it not so much because of the color but because it's a rebloomer and came as a plant instead of a root.  I refuse to buy roots.  I have absolutely no luck with them. What about you, do you have luck with roots?

Coleus is one of the few annuals I'm enamored with. They're hardy, grow in shade and have the prettiest leaves. What more could you want?

I picked up another Sunny Knockout. My other bushes have the most glorious aroma. Have you noticed some years flowers smell better than others? That they don't seem to have a fragrance after it's rained? That some roses on a bush have scent and others on the same bush don't? Why is that?

I swear if anymore of my shoe falls off while I'm mowing, I'll be mowing barefoot.

The day lilies and cone flowers are starting to bloom. I have four seasons: Iris Season, Day lily Season, Mum Season, and Christmas Rose(Hellebore) Season.

Okay, five seasons. Rose Season.😏

Bye-Bye May,  Bye-Bye.

Did You Know

Did you know, the first speeding ticket was issued to a driver going eight miles an hour in 1896.

It's Tuesday

What's wrong with this picture?

I don't know if you can tell from this picture but the plant pushed its way through the curtain. I guess it's true about the grass being greener on the other side:)

AND

As you can see from the picture, the excitement never ends at our house. Ha. Lazy bums.

AND

Our little granddaughter who was having a smoking hot softball season fell at school and broke her arm.  To add insult to injury, literally, besides not being able to play anymore softball she got COVID which they think she picked up in ER. 😞

Now her mom has it.

Luckily, they are both vaxxed.

AND

More bracelet winners:

D. L. Finn

Liz A

Joanne Faries

Congrats 😍

So Blogger Buds, What have you been up to? Staying out of trouble? Cough, cough. Choke, choke. Hack, hack:)
