Feral Cat and Boss's Day

Today is Feral Cat Day.  A feral is a cat that has gone wild or is born to a cat that has gone wild. Many of these cats start out as domesticated kitties that have been abandoned by their caregivers and must fend for themselves. Unaltered, they multiple and their offspring multiples.  If controlled, these cats can live out their lives in a colony without continuing the feral cycle. I'm a big believer in spay, neuter, release. It's much more humane than the gas chamber. I bet you are too.

Are you a Jackson Galaxy fan? Have you ever watched My Cat From Hell? Jackson is great. Here's a short clip Jackson has done in support of TNR for Alley Cat Allies.

To all the wonderful bosses out there...have a perfect day. And to those not so wonderful...remember who makes you look good.

Easy Smeazy Muffins

My middle name should be Easy. Hmm, that doesn't sound right does it? Anyway, you know what I mean. I like easy. If there's a short cut, especially in the kitchen, I'll take it. Cooking is not my passion. So when a friend gave me this EASY muffin recipe. (Thanks, Gail.) I decided to try it. And since it's the perfect time of year for it, I'm going on the assumption you like easy too, and sharing it with you. The picture is from the first batch, hence the fact that some of them look like baby muffins. I wasn't quite sure how much they'd rise. You can put a healthy dollop in each cup. The second batch, I topped with shaved nuts. Anyhoo....
All you need is a spice or yellow cake mix and a can of pumpkin. Blend the two together. Fill your muffin tins and bake at 325 for 20 to 25 minutes. Easy Smeazy.

Showers, Planes and Monday's Joke

Good Monday to you. Did you have an extraordinary weekend?
The babies made a haul at the shower. They've got things out there now for little ones that I'd never even thought about. I had planned on being practical and getting a Target gift card to help offset the cost of diapers, then I saw the rocking-horse chair and couldn't pass it up. Of course, they only had one, but we have a kid's rocking chair from back in the day when the 'boy and girl' were little so they'll have two rocking chairs.
The best part of the shower...my sister flew in from St. Louis, she arrived at 12:30 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. shower and caught the 7:00 a.m. flight out the next morning. Which meant we all had to haul butt out of bed at 4:45 a.m. But it was really nice of her to come in.
~*~Joke for the day.(Thanks, Rye.) This one's for Crystal Collier:

Which cheese isn't yours?
Nacho Cheese:)

Blurb from TALL, DARK AND UNDEAD
Release date at Amazon and Barnes and Noble: November 19, 2013

He stood at the foot of my bed, dark and brooding. This time his eyes didn’t glow crimson. They were a stormy grey that drew me in like the crash of tidal waves. “What are you doing here?” I asked in my dream.
“Checking to see if you’re all right.”  His voice floated like soft velvet in my head. I watched his mouth. His teeth were strong and white but I saw no fangs. “Why?” “I have no idea.” He frowned. “Who are you?” I stared fascinated. “Just call me your guardian angel.” “More like guardian demon.” I plucked at my sheet. He laughed. The sound of bells wound through my head. “Isn’t that an oxymoron?” “Normally, but I don’t think so in your case.  Am I dreaming?” “Yes, Suzanne. Sleep now.” “I am tired,” I agreed and closed my eyes.

Corn Maze

I don't get it. Just down the road from us is a corn maze and it really draws a crowd. I grew up in the Midwest, surrounded by corn, and I just don't see the draw. An English Maze, yeah, that would be cool, but a cornfield?  I'm trying to figure out if it's a southern thing. Do you have mazes, of the cornfield variety, where you live? Ever been through one?

~*~Just in case this happens to you.....Have you ever lost your sound on youtube? I did and of course thought my speaker was shot. Went on line and did some research. I so appreciate the person who shared this information. If you see an x down by the youtube speaker on your trailer click on it. Its your mute. Walla, you have sound again.

Tom Clancy

"Writing isn't divinely inspired, it's hard work."~ Tom Clancy
Tom Clancy, a superstar in the book world, died last week at age sixty-six. He referred to his mega success as just dumb luck. It's an amazingly humble statement for someone who fathered a genre and was considered one of the best author's of his time.
His passion for military history began early. Instead of reading children's books, he went straight to books on engineering and the military.
Tom Clancy started out as an insurance salesman, who wrote on the side. When the Naval Institute Press purchased The Hunt For Red October for $5,000.00 his meteoric rise in the publishing world began. It was nudged along by Ronald Reagan who loved the book and
referred to it as 'my kind of yarn'. He was so techno savvy that even the military wondered where he got his information.
He ended up with seventeen best sellers and over 100 million book copies in print.
Mr. Clancy was part owner of the Baltimore Orioles.

And It's Monday....Again

And it's here again....
Did you do anything exciting this weekend? We went to see Gravity. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think? Don't ya just love Sandra Bullock with short hair? After paying $16.50 at the concession stand for drinks, candy and stale popcorn we're swearing off.

Also read Michael Connelly's The Lincoln Lawyer. It's a good read. I know some folks prefer to read the book before seeing the movie but I'm good either way. In this instance, I'm glad I saw the movie before I read it. Whenever I visualized Mick Haller I visualized Matthew Mcconaughey:) Do you have a preference? Movie or book first?

Friday's trailer: It drove the cat crazy. She could hear the parakeet but couldn't find him:)

Fruits and Vegetables

The broccoli says, "I look like a small tree." The mushroom says, "I look like an umbrella." The walnut says, "I look like a brain." The banana says, "Can we please change the subject?"
