Paying It Forward

I'm in debt. I've had back to back pay it forwards.
I may have previously mentioned, when we first moved in, we had to get some work done on the dryer. I asked the appliance repair person if he installed cat doors. He responded no, but said there was a member of his church that was a wonderful carpenter. He gave me his name and it turned out to be one of our faculty member's that's in the same division as the hh. The next day I shared the conversation with the faculty member and he said he'd be glad to do it.  He came out last week and installed the door and wouldn't take a penny for it, just said to 'take the gift.' 
A few days later, I called our contractor and asked him to check out the roof as the sun room had a leak. He came out, checked the roof, put sealant where there was a possibility for leaks and--you guessed it--wouldn't take any money for it.
When my sister was in, she snagged the tab that I'd planned on picking up for our mani-pedis.
My son and his wife got the Cheesecake bill at the birthday party.
I'm in arrears on paying it forward.

The Party's Over

Thanks for all the well wishes. Had a great bday. We partied for three days...sedately of course. grin.
My brother and sister-in-law picked up my sister at the airport and we hooked up and went out to dinner.  Friday night the hh, my sister and I had cake and ran around in glow stick jewelry.  Well to clarify,my sister and I ran around in the glow stick jewelry, the hh refused to wear it. We turned out the lights and videoed. It wasn't exactly the Blair Witch Project, but it was funny to watch since all you could see were the various colors dancing around. The next day we hooked up with my son, daughter-in-law and THE BABIES at the Cheesecake Factory where they were kind enough to treat us to lunch.  Best Birthday Ever.

My sister's flying in this afternoon. We're January babies and since it's speed limit birthdays, we're going to celebrate together. Unfortunately, it's not this one for either of us.
