Quotables and Notables
~I like this~"I can get along with anyone. I just get along better with some if I keep the contact limited."~Born In Death, J.D. Robb~*~
Have you seen this 1999 movie? I saw it for the first time a few nights ago and loved it. True human interest stories where someone rises from adversity to make good, always draws me in. Jake Gyllenhaal plays Homer Hickam a young man who like the majority of his classmates is destined to work in the mines when he decides to shoot for the stars. This hour and forty-eight minute movie held my attention all the way through.

The Case of the Missing Clove
Awhile back I began smelling garlic. Since neither my husband or I cook with garlic it was beginning to freak me out. All I could think of was a gas leak or a vampire hunting specter in the house. I called the gas company and they informed me if I had a leak it would smell like rotten eggs.(Personally I'd rather smell garlic.) I'd also ruled out the vampire hunting specter since we have no silver and there's no stakes lying around. It finally dawned on me that when the family was in for the holidays both my daughter and her fiance used garlic cloves when they cooked at Christmas and my sister used garlic cloves when she cooked on our birthdays. At some point one of the little pungent bulbs made a break for freedom and is hiding in the kitchen. Whew, better than specters or gas leaks, now I just have to find the darn thing.

Furrever Family
Isn't this guy a handsome fellow? He belongs to the couple who was hosting a couples shower for my daughter and her fiance. He'd plop down in front of you and when you held out your hand he'd shake. Then look at you with soulful eyes waiting for his treat, which consisted of either fresh radish slices or carrot slices. He loved them. This boy is about ten years old and a pit mix. Pits are outlawed in England. One of his human parents is American, the other is British (the husband). The husband wants to move back to Britain. Given the laws against pits, the couple has decided to stay in America as long as the dog lives. When he passes, they'll move back. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all pet parents were that engaged?

Anthropologie and the Community College
While in Philly we also went to Anthropologie, where the store is headquartered and to the community college. I snapped a few pics of the interior of Anthro.
Here's a few pics of the interior of the community college my daughter teaches at.

Macy's Spring Flower Show
When I was in Philly we visited the flower show going on at Macy's. The above picture is of the window display.
There was a color wheel aimed at the statue, constantly changing the color and design.
This is the three-story pipe organ in Macy's.It was certainly different that shopping at the mall, which is what I'm used to.
