Blurb Tom gave up on ever falling in love again the day that he buried his high school sweetheart and fiancé. He started a career in law enforcement just so that he could find her murderer and rapist. Just when he is about to see justice done, he meets Alli Davis-the defense attorney for the murdering rapist who took his love from him.

"We think Bryan Colton stole money from the people he cooked those books for. He may have hidden the money away thinking he could get away with it."
"And if they found out..."
"He's desperate to get the money back or use it to get away." Brandon finished the thought.
"This is good news because he's going to keep Alli alive for her to hand him the painting. She is too valuable alive to do anything drastic."
"But Alli doesn't have it..." Tom frowned.
"Right. So she's collateral." Brandon seemed pleased. "Either way, it pays for him to keep Alli alive and unharmed. This gives us time."
"But why haven't we heard anything?" Even though Brandon's theory made sense to him, Tom was concerned about the delay.
Brandon shrugged. "That I don't know. Maybe he doesn't believe she doesn't have the painting. Or he's trying to figure out how to use her to bargain with. She probably hasn't let him know where the painting is."
"Alli is stubborn as hell." Tom thought aloud. "She is probably keeping her mouth shut."
Brandon nodded. "So we have to let him know you have it."
"Does that put you in danger?" Caitlyn sounded worried about her cousin.
Tom looked at his cousin and then at Brandon. If Bryan Colton decided to come after him, they could be in the way.
"You guys have to go home." He didn't want anyone else to get hurt.
Brandon shook his head. "I'm not leaving you alone. Caitlyn and Chloe can go home. I'm staying."
"I am not leaving the two of you!" Caitlyn protested.
"Cat..." Tom wanted to reason with her. Brandon could handle himself. He was a terrific backup for him.
"Sweetheart, I'd feel better..." Brandon looked torn.
"Tough. If you're worried, hire some thug to watch your daughter. I am staying." She was adamant.

Passionate Hearts Anthology Reviewed
An Anthology With Heart
Passionate Hearts Review By reprinted from Amazon
This anthology is physically attractive and colorful with romantic cover art that greets the reader. The stories are written from both female and male perspectives. There is a great deal of variety here making for an enjoyable reading experience.
The first story in this collection is Victoria Howard's "Her Protector." This is a romantic suspense story that keeps the reader guessing. Matt Hemmings connects with Alexa McAllister as she leaves Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Airport. Is it love at first sight or is something more going on here? Romance and mystery interconnect in a satisfying way.
The second story in this anthology is "The Riddle" which I happen to have written. Set in Giza, scientists are exploring the mystery of the Sphinx. The story combines romance, humor and science fiction.
In "The Vacation" by Chelle Cordero, Darlene's husband has left her and the children refusing to even provide child support. She is struggling to survive. That's when Bob comes into her life. Bob has been seriously injured in Iraq. The two find love and comfort together, but life it seems is never quite that simple. Enter Darlene's ex!
Michael Bracken writes in many genres. He recently won the prestigious Derringer Award for short mystery fiction. "An Engaging New Year" begins with a kiss on New Year's Eve. Why a "stranger" propose marriage to our heroine?
Just when Diane, an overweight pediatrician is ready to give up on love, Tony, a sexy physical therapist, literary stumbles over her at the beach in Charmaine Gordon's witty and entertaining "Take Me As I Am."
"Immortal Love" by Melinda Clayton has a great opening: "He saw her, for the first time in two-hundred years..." Timeless love makes for a romantic theme in this contemporary story.
"Simmering Wedding" by Marilyn Celeste Morris is a very different sort of story in its complexity. Set in Korea before the start of the Korean War, there are a series of interrelated characters and relationships. This story could be developed into a literary novel.
In "Destiny Beach" by Angelica Taylor, Candice is constantly dreaming about meeting Mr. Right on the beach. Will it happen?
In "Paco's Visions" by Robert Hays, Mama Jan is hired by Mr. Sebastian to work at his Sanibel Island mansion. Paco and his sister, Rosa, both love the island. But then Paco has his vision of the cat Marmalade being eaten by an alligator. He worries that it might be true. Meanwhile Mama Jan and Cajun Captain Dupuis develop strong feelings for each other. But where will it lead?
"A Firefly for Thanksgiving" by Kathie Harrington is a touching romance. Those who've served in the military will appreciate this story in particular.
"After the Ball" by Misha Crews takes place in the summer of 1957. After Midge nearly dies, she goes on a vacation and meets her fate in the form of a young child who introduces Midge to her father. A spooky story with a romantic twist.
Each tale has its own unique focus. Altogether, there are sixteen stories to read and enjoy.

OEBD for the holidays
When I first signed up for Operation E-Book Drop via Smashwords and author Ed Patterson I had six books - today I have nine books. Also increasing in numbers is the amount of authors who are participating in this wonderful program - on Oct 31, 2010, Mark Coker, the founder of Smashwords, said "Ed Patterson informs me over 500 indie authors are now participating in Operation Ebook Drop. Awesome! Congrats to all."
I am pleased to say that I am STILL a participating author in Operation E-Book Drop.
Servicemen and women of our Coalition Forces are away from home and putting themselves on the line for the rest of us. No matter what your political beliefs are, most of us agree that we need to support our men and women as we pray for their safe return.
All coalition military personnel deployed overseas who need multi-format ebooks are eligible. According to Ed, "If you're overseas and away from your home and loved ones, your dependence on reading might increase - and so we are gifting you ebooks for Kindle, Sony, iPhone, Blackberry etc."
For free ebooks, please email Ed at ed w pat @ att . net (remove the spaces)
What is Operation E-Book Drop?
Author Ed Patterson had an online conversation with a soldier stationed in Iraq who was having difficulty getting books to read on his Kindle - there isn't a whole lot to do for entertainment there. Ed sent the soldier a complete file of his books in Kindle format - and then the idea struck him that there might be other soldiers and other authors who would want to participate. Sure enough, lists started to form and books were being sent over the internet in various e-book formats.
Then the wonderful staff at Smashwords found out about this effort and decided to promote the program - Smashwords authors can use special coupon codes to send the members of the Coalition Forces so they can download books to their reading devices. Since Smashwords offers books in several ebook formats (including Kindle, Palm, .pdf and more), books are readable on all reading devices and even with a web browser.
Kimberlee at Vanilla Heart Publishing made sure that any VHP authors who wanted had the proper coupon codes to send...

Happy Thanksgiving to all
May you enjoy the bounty of good food, comfortable warmth,
love of family and friends,
and good health.~~~~~
excerpt from Courage of the Heart
Thanksgiving dinner with her family was wonderful, but Davie was happy to get back to her own place for the rest of the weekend. Thanksgiving dinners were always a monumental event in her family and especially since her cousin and her new husband had just gotten back from their honeymoon, the family went all out this year. She seemed to remember that last year they had some special reason to go all out then too, just like the year before.
When she was little, she remembered helping her mother prepare wonderfully delicious Thanksgiving dishes. She loved the baking most of all, fresh apple pies, delicious cornbread and pumpkin muffins – her mouth watered just thinking about it. Her mom and all her aunts, and sometimes even her uncles, helped to make a cooperative feast that she was sure rivaled any that the Pilgrims might have even dreamed of. Even now, long after her mom was no longer around to make any contributions, the dinner was still a huge ceremony. Everyone agreed though that the sweet potato pie was never as good as Laura used to make.
She was put on the bus for the trip back home with a carton of plastic containers filled with leftovers. Luckily the bus was near empty, so the cardboard box had its own seat for the ride. By the time she had gotten back home, she was so tired she barely got everything put in the fridge before she climbed exhausted into bed.
Saturday morning she slept late…
Davie was startled when her doorbell rang. She wasn't expecting company.
"Hi." Adam greeted her when she opened the door. "I drove by last night and saw your lights on, but it was late." He had worried that the family upstairs would think he was a prowler at that hour, especially if Davie hadn't welcomed his presence. "May I come in?" [image error] COURAGE OF THE HEART shows us that sometimes love is the only cure for the very deepest of emotional wounds. The story of the two lovers takes a series of unexpected and fast paced turns where lives, sanity and love are put in jeopardy. Their commitment to one another results in a spirit that binds them together and helps them to overcome physical and emotional dangers.BUY LINKS Amazon - Kindle

Featuring the short story STORMY WEATHER
by Chelle Cordero
(excerpt)
The sun felt like it was burning into her skin. Even SPF-25 didn't stand up to the wind burn.
It was just too easy to be lazy and lie there on the towel. The wind was kicking up and she felt grains of sand skitter across her skin ever now and then. She wasn't alone, there were a few diehards still on the beach. The running feet kicked up clumps of sand finally annoyed her enough to sit up and dust herself off.
"Surfers," she mumbled and shook her head. Storms always brought them out. The wind kicked up the surf and the waves swelled. Debbie was compelled to watch two figures riding a huge crest and cringed when she saw one tumble into the crashing foam, his board flying in after him.
Groaning, she finally stood and brushed some of the sand from her arms. Debbie walked to the water's edge and was amazed to realize how much closer it was to the towel she was lying on than when she first picked out a spot. At least she would get her feet wet before she packed up her belongings and trudged back to the hotel.
She was standing in ankle deep water when a wave crashed into her at chest height. She was knocked off balance and wound up sitting in the wet sand as the water threatened to pull her in. The salty water passed her lips and she sputtered and tried to catch her breath.
"You okay?" A bronze god squatted beside her. His hand rested on her back to support her in case she actually collapsed.

Deanna Blair moved to New York City to make more money so she could send it home to her parents whose home and business were ravaged by the hurricanes. Then Deanna is accidentally caught up in the middle of a bank robbery and taken captive. One of the brutal men seems different from the rest and he keeps Deanna safe from the other men and she is very attracted to him. When the police find and raid the group, the man she has feelings for is shot down in front of her. Now Deanna's entire life has been turned upside down. But there is more to the story than even Deanna knows¦
This is a highly emotional and stressful read. My heart pounded and I cried for Deanna in several places in the story. Deanna is truly an innocent in all of this and now she will likely live with the aftermath from the kidnapping for years to come and no one seems really c ...more
