Day Eleven of NaNoWriMo: 1,911 words (52,624 total) NaNo Overtime
Just shy of 2,000 words today. Not a great showing, but I was out at my writing group tonight, and I had a good time socializing with my fellow writers. I’m a little behind for my goal this week now, but I can still catch up. I’ll push for a good day tomorrow, but the pressure is definitely off now, and I think that’s a good thing.

Day Ten of NaNoWriMo: 7,154 words (50,713 total) VICTORY!
Yes! I made it! Today was a good day, and a new record for me. 50,000 words in only 10 days! Woo hoo! This was a productive day. I stay focused, I sat down, and got out the words I needed to get out without too much trouble. I am so happy I was able to reach my goal. That’s it. The challenge is completed, but my participation is not yet over. The book itself is only about two-thirds completed. My goal now, is to finish the rest of the book, approximately another 25,000 words in the next week. Tomorrow I will be pushing myself again. But for tonight, I celebrate!

Day Nine of NaNoWriMo: 5,552 words (43,559 total)
It’s getting harder and harder to stay focused on writing. I worked all day today and barely got over 5,000 words. I am behind on my goals and struggling. I’m trying every trick I can think of, but it’s getting to be too much. I’m getting burnt out on writing. Challenge completion is in sight though. If I can manage to push myself to 6,500 words tomorrow I’ll have done it. That’ll give me a week to finish off the book itself with about another 25,000 words. But know I’m seriously doubting I can make it.

Day Eight of NaNoWriMo: 1,606 words (37,976 total)
Awful night tonight. I was so tired and distracted. I was nowhere near my goal for the night. At least I wrote something, but I’m really disappointed with myself. Tomorrow needs to be amazing.

Day Seven of NaNoWriMo: 4,494 words (36,370 total)
I exceeded my goal tonight despite a slow start. I powered through the distractions and the exhaustion to make it happen. The writing streak is still alive! I feel good. I feel accomplished. The book is coming out well. This weekend should see push over the top and complete the competition. I can’t wait to do it!

Day Six of NaNoWriMo: 3,980 words (31,876 total)
Better night tonight. I struggled a little bit still, but once I got writing, the words came out as they should, and I got damn close to my 4,000 word target for the night. I am happy with that, and I’m glad I’m keeping up a steady progress. The chapters are getting a little longer than I planned, and that may push out the overall length of the piece, but that’s to be expected. In terms of pure word count, I am doing great! I really want to keep this momentum going, and I’ll do whatever it takes to do so!

Day Five of NaNoWriMo: 3,418 words (27,896 total)
Whew! The words do not always come easily, and tonight I definitely struggled. I had a hard getting focused and “into the zone.” I kept with it though, and pushed myself to get the chapter finished, and I came pretty close to my goal in the end. It was an ugly win for the night, but a win is a win. Let’s hope tomorrow goes better.

Day Four of NaNoWriMo: 6,097 words (24,478 total)
Wow! I had an amazing night tonight! So much more productive than I expected to be. I’m really pleased with my word count for the evening, and I had a great time with my writing group. The writing feels solid too. All of the long prep work is paying off.

Day Three of NaNoWriMo: 6,919 words (18,381 total)
Another productive day for novel writing although I would have liked an increase from yesterday. I’m still within my target goals, though the book seems to be getting longer and longer, but that’s to be expected. I hope all of you participating are still writing strong!
