Fearsome Windowthings
One of the joys of working with a brilliant artist like Tom Brown is being able to throw random things his way and watch what he does with them. The picture of the fearsome windowthings on this week's edition of the Hopeless Vendetta - www.hopelessvendetta.wordpress.com is a fine case in point.
I've interviewed Tom at www.myspace.com/brynneth_n_colvin and its now possible to get some of his artwork on t-shirts and whatnot from www.zazzle.com/copperage
It's all go at the moment.

Tales from the Copper Age
There's another round of fictional news from Hopeless Maine up at www.hopelessvendetta.wordpress.com - read about the blood storm! Also, make sure you read the comments too, people have been joining in and there are little story lines happening through that as well.
If you visit www.short-fiction.co.uk and either look for Annamarie - Chapter One on the opening page, or search for Bryn_Colvin and you can pick up a free Copper Age read. I'm writting backstory at the moment, for characters who appear in other things. It's dark fantasy, with dashes of odd humour. There's also some smut of mine on there, including a serialisation of my reworking of Gawain and the Green Knight.
Copper Age stories and erotic serialisations are being added every week, so do keep dropping in.

Gay and Immortal
We're putting together an anthology over at Loveyoudivine and I promise you, it's going be a good one!
I'm chipping away at my contribution, which is a tale about a yew tree dryad, whose tree has been cut down. When the tree dies, so does the spirit who lived in it, normally, but Nix wants happy endings, so I am finding ways of saving the day and not having the title - 'The Death of an Immortal' turn out to work in the most obvious way. After all, in French, 'death' is decidedly euphamistic.
The second installment of the pirate tales is written - 'The Conquest'. I need to polish it up and then it goes to Sarah for editing, so it'll be out soon. I want to get my dryad tale written and in first though as we have deadlines to meet!

The Conquest
Well, that's the first draft written! Pirates, Edam, gender confusion... so far so good.
Next stop, a contribution to an anthology of m/m paranormal stuff, and another anthology about holidays ( have vague ideas for both) then back to pirates I think.
I might try and organise a pirate theme day at coffee time if, I can find any other pirate obsessed authors who want to play?

Edam as a weapon
I'm a good two thirds of the way through writing my second pirate story - The Conquest. Edam as a weapon - it came from an idea on Radio 4 a few weeks ago - I listen precisely in the hopes of picking up strange details I can steal for stories. Apparently Edam has been used in lieu of cannonballs, although now I have to figure out what that would change in terms of firing ranges, trajectory etc. I am consulting with the research assistants, some of them have a grasp of these technical things.
The first installment 'The Devil's Rose' is already available from http://tinyurl.com/c9evo5 in ebook form!

Poison
Poison was the story that introduced me to Jane Bled. I had my editor hat on at the time. (And if you were wondering, the editor hat is made of dark velvet, embroidered with mushrooms).
When I first encountered Poison, it was a very short story, blisteringly intense. I was smitten with the writing style. Since then, the tale has grown, deepend. It's a tale exploring a seriously dysfunctional, and very hot relationship between two guys. It's a striking piece of writing very much at the literary end of erotica.
It's out now from www.loveyoudivine.com

Vampires and Pirates
Not a reference to Justin Stomper's excellent vampirate books (although I am reading the third one to my son!)
Vampires first - I've just interviewed author Jane Bled for one of my other blogs - she writes vampires, and the back story to that is well worth a read, as is her novel 'Master - Crimson'. www.myspace.com/brynneth_n_colvin for the interview, www.loveyoudivine.com for the book.
Pirates... the first instalment of the Cutlass series is out at www.loveyoudivine.com introducing Stefan and Charlotte Archer. He's crazy, charming, and very sexy. She's smarter, with a sharp tongue, but just as pretty! They don't set out to be pirates, but having been kidnapped, its that or a very long swim! It's erotic, action, adventure comedy stuff - you can see the influence of my early exposure to swashbuckling films and tales.
I'm currently working on the second installment, 'The Conquest'which includes gender confusion, drunkenness, and bondage!

Rum, pirates and farce
I'm back on the piracy today. the first installment 'The Devil's Rose' should be out soon. Part two 'The Conquest' is nearly up to 2k, and someone has mistaken my heroine for a boy, again! Much gender confusion, silliness and seduction will follow.
I finished editing and formatting Max Griffin's new rmance thriller Lindermount Lovers - rather fun, some delightful 'Rebecca' homage in there too.
In the meantime, I have timbers to shiver...

today I am mostly
Not getting any work done, I fear! I have a fabulous Max Griffen story to format - perhaps if things are quiet later, I can get that done.
As for the rest of the 'to do' list - I have a new piece of medical smut to send to www.loveyoudivine.com for the Bedside Manor line. Why am I writing medical smut? I'm not that into doctors in real life... but, this one is historical, so there are corsets, and entirely different attitudes to sexuality and professionalism!
As soon as time permits, I should be starting a new pirate story. Tentative title 'The Conquest' but no plot in my head yet.
