Cruisin’ through books cause books make life worth living with ALy 12/16/2016 part 2

Once Dead, Twice Shy by Kim Harrison

This book was ok for me.  I have read another series and I am still reading a different series by the same author and I enjoy that one so I wanted to try more of her work.  I think I will have to at some point try book two in this series because I am curious what happen next.  I know Madison is dead but I was a little confused in the middle of this book and I think I am still confused.  I though the characters were ok but not all them are that believable to me. I will have to see if what I think of book two.  3/5

Reaped from Faerie by WB McKay

I enjoy this series.  I like Sophie Morrigan and the whole cast of the series.  I would like to see more with her and Owen, but I think that is coming.  This book was exciting and had my attention from beginning to end.  *I received this book from the author—this is my honest review*  5/5

The Corner Store Witch by H.D. Lynn

I think this book left me hangin’ but I enjoyed it.  I still have a lot of questions but I am sure more will be revealed in the next books to come. It was an exciting new story and set of characters.  I do want to see what happens in the next book.  Magic, inter-dimensional travel, demons and soo much more in the book, I am excited to see where this series can take me.  * I received this book from NetGalley—This is my honest review*  4/5

Shadow Silence by Yasmine Galenorn

Another great book in the Whisper Hollow series!  Can’t wait to find out what happens next.  I love Kerris and all her Whisper Hollow friends.  I think it is great that Yasmine brings in new charterers to be a part of the stories too.  I will read more from Yasmine I think she is an awesome author!  5/5

Paw Prints: The True Story of a Three-Pawed Dog by Steven F Freeman

What a short quick read about a three-legged Maltese.  I loved the picture in the book. I think this would be a great book for a child.  I loved it but I Steven must know I have 3 dogs.  I’m a sucker for dog books as well.  It is a beautiful book! * I received this book from the author—this is my honest review*  5/5

The Chronicles of Starlyn by Craig A. Price Jr.

This book was exciting and yet a little sad for me.  I hate that Starlyn must choose between her sister’s freedom or her mother’s life in this book.  I think the story was good and I enjoyed the characters very much.  I would like see more in this series and see what happens next.  * I received this book from the author—This is my honest review*  4/5

Confessions of a Noob Author

Great post by one of the authors on the SIA board!

Matt Cowper

How did it feel writing my first novel?

Well, some days I felt like I was stumbling through a Siberian tundra, frostbitten and starving, with a hundred-pound weight on my back, and Russian oligarchs hunting me for sport. The words wouldn’t come, or if they did they were terrible, as if Satan had intercepted them and twisted them into evil gibberish when they were en route from my muse.

Other days I felt like I was whirling and chirping through the air like a carefree bird. I dropped paragraphs on the page like Zeus hurling thunderbolts. My description was sublime, my analogies leapt off the page like glowing neon signs of literary awesomeness, my dialogue sizzled.

Sound like a familiar experience?

Most authors know what it’s like to plummet from the conquering summit to the valley of despair, or vice versa –sometimes within the same day. Writing is like that…

Ten Minus Ten by Joe Mansour

This book was very smart!  I enjoyed the way the author wrote this book very much.  The characters were great but I was caught up by all of it!  This book impressed me very much.  You should see what you think. * I received this book from the author—this is my honest

Beyond the Spectrum by G.W. Boileau

I also really enjoy detective books!  This book was soo different yet so fun to read for me.  Blake Gamble seemed to me like a very great character.  I believe in him and I liked following along. I love these books because I always try to out guess the endings.  I have a good time trying to figure out which way the author may go.  I did not figure this one out!  * I received this book from the author—this is my honest review*  4/5

The Frost Bloom Garden by Romarin Demetri

I really enjoy this series!  This book to me is not typical and has many surprises in it for me!  I loved the way the author writes! There was so much going on in this book.  It was just sooo good!  There is a mystery and huge cast of characters!  I was just so excited about this book.  I could not put it down.  OMG!  * I received this book from the author—this is my honest review*  5/5
