New Release: The Final Lesson by Shakyra Dunn

A new release from author Shakyra Dunn The Final Lesson

Leilana Erovina’s got a bid for power as she takes the final test to become one of her realm’s Warlords. As such, she sets out to travel the lands of Adrylis and log magical totems from respectful folk with only one hitch—no ancestral help. The quest is a pilgrimage to learn the basics of human nature. Some would call concepts like gentleness and passion fables of the heart.

In another perspective, war brews in the kingdom of Linmus, thr...

Interesting Facts #3

The World of Hir

I’ve been asked many times what was the inspiration for the world I created for the Rangers of Laerean series. It was not some epiphany moment, or some light bulb that suddenly went off above my head. It was, in fact, simply a matter of slow, meticulous creation. Inspired by such worlds as Middle Earth, the Hyborean Age, and others, I made the decision to create a world filled with rich lore and history as a setting for my planned series. While I didn’t realize I would be wri...

Interesting Facts #2

Dragonblood Throne: Legacy is my fourth fantasy novel, but in actuality, it was the first. Originally published in December of 2014 as Dragon Rising, the story of Delina hasn’t changed much, but in 2017 I completely re-wrote the manuscript with some major editing, and re-published the story as Dragonblood Throne: Legacy. The reason for that was that in the course of writing my Rangers of Laerean series, I truly developed my own style of writing, a style that did not really exist when I wrote...

Interesting Facts #1

The main character in my Rangers of Laerean series, Baric, was a character that was created way back in the late 1980s by my brother and myself for a black & white comic book called Dark Regions. Baric, and his companion characters Jagg (a dwarf) and Sylver (an elf), have all been with me ever since. I have created them as characters in many role-playing games throughout the years, but of them all, Baric became my favorite.

So, when I decided to write my second novel, I realized I wanted to...
