Misty Griffin is the author of her best selling memoir Tears of the Silenced. Misty wrote her memoir to raise awareness about child abuse and sexual assault cover up among the Amish and other strict religious groups.

Misty Griffin’s inspiring story takes you through her ordeal as a severely abused child and then her experiences as a young woman in an Amish community- a place where pedophilia was never reported or punished - and finally her escape and efforts to save her sister and bring the perpetrators to justice, all while adapting to a modern life she had never known.

Yes I am sad to say it was extremely difficult. The flash backs and PTSD were so bad that I was jumping and crying at almost any sudden noise or movement. At one point my husband took my laptop away from me and would not let me continue writing for awhile(It was very helpful and let me regain my strength)
After the book was written I felt a lot better though. I no longer had the nagging feeling that I was not doing enough to help others who were in my same situation.
Blessings

“The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it. - Albert Einstein”
Misty Griffin, Tears of the Silenced

“Our Voice is our most powerful tool against these evil people who prey on the innocent, we should never be silent and let them continue to harm people. By being silent we are telling them it is “Okay to continue”. I firmly believe if you choose to stand with those who wish to keep the victim silent you are yourself guilty of a crime against humanity
- Misty Griffin”

“No matter how bad home is, it is still home, and home is something that will always be a part of you, something that helps define your life.”
Misty Griffin, Tears of the Silenced
