Thank you, SLCC!

SLCC was so much fun! It was my first time ever being at this Comic Con, and I was blown away by the energy and the passion of the fans, the creative cosplays and of course the wonderful people who came to my panels and my signing! I was nervous moderating my first two panels at this con, Say It On The Page! and Turning Ideas into Novels, but the discussion and thought-provoking questions made it all worth it.

DragonCon 2017 Recap!

I had so much fun at DragonCon this year! It was a blast to reunite with some amazing folks who I only pretty much get to see once a year, and it was so much fun being on the panels LGBTQIA in YA, Magic and Worldbuilding, Somewhere Over The Rainbow and the Craft of Dystopia!

This was also the first con where I got to debut some new swag and merch!

“Brooke paints beautiful descriptions with her superb prose, weaving poetic concepts with dialogue and motifs that pop up throughout the story. Aiden’s mental illness, and mourning process, is depicted realistically and will strike the heart of any reader.”

weneeddiversebooks:

“I want to discuss the work of disabled genre authors, or authors who celebrate disability in their work. Here’s five of them you’ve definitely heard of—some of them write about disability, some don’t, but ll of them have changed the landscape of SFF.”

authorcblee:

The cave is empty, and Morgan’s footprints are the only ones on the soft sand. He can hear the roar of the ocean behind him and the distant echo from the cave winding through the rock.

He tucks his sealskin behind a boulder, secures it so it won’t drift away at high tide and stands up, satisfied with the way it seems to disappear into the shadows of the rocks around it. There will be plenty of time to find the perfect hiding place in this cave later. Morgan has a Request to...
