Alicia wasn't surprised by the new delay as she again waited. She'd been part of a bureaucracy. Even at its best, New Worlds for Humanity had the same stop-and-go movement of any big company -- or government agency.
She knew how one person could defer to another and how decisions got caught up in a fine web of waiting for someone else to make a choice.

Merry Go Round Blog Tour: What to do in 2015?
I suspect this is a sign of how 2015 is going to go in general, because I am late with the first post to this round of the tour. Dare I even make plans for a year where I am already falling behind?
Might as well live dangerously.
Every December I make certain I've finished up everything for the year. That means completing whatever drafts I am working on, tidying up outlines, and

They had both sat down by the time the port guards were heading up the lift -- they could hear the distant buzz of power as it neared.
Theseus patted her leg and smiled. "We're done now. Answer everything they ask, even about where we've been. My friends will have moved on by now, so don't worry about it. This may take a while to work out, but we'll be safer with the

A few hours had changed her life completely. Alicia had gone from a good, helpful head of a department in a huge company to being accused of terrorism . . . and now wearing a stolen uniform and breaking into a secure facility with a madman.
He didn't slow. Neither did she.
They were both crazy.
The IDs got them inside the building, just as he said they would.

They didn't have trouble moving back into a crowd that was being herded basically in the same direction they wanted to go. When the guards moved the group another way, Theseus was able to get them into a little area behind a gate, hidden as others went past. The timing had to be perfect not to draw the attention of anyone in the group.
Within two hours she could clearly see

Alicia waited while Theseus continued to scan through whatever information he had found. He had paled. She didn't like to think what kind of trouble would worry him that much.
He finally looked up at her, pocketcomp still in hand. "We should have been considering where the explosives were coming from."
Alicia looked around with surprise. He was right. She had run

Alicia expected Theseus to retreat back to the tunnel. However, he gave the opening one look and shook his head as he let the door go closed.
She could see no sign of the door from the outside. Nowhere to escape and the sound of trouble was rushing closer.
"We stay here," Theseus said softly as he pulled her back towards the wall. "If we miss the shuttle, no matter.

Had they been set up for this? She tried to sort through the last few days, before this rush from one disaster to another. Had she seen a sign that this was coming?
There had been . . . an oddness with her immediate supervisor the last week. Hamilton had been nervous around her . She'd also found him going through her desk yesterday --
"Hamilton is in on it,"
