Update on Ruby
Hi there,
First of all thanks for all the lovely reviews. Honestly, on the days when the writing slows to a crawl, it motivates me to keep going!
Ruby is coming! But so far her story is well over 400 pages and I haven't finished yet! I'm sorry it's taking so long, but I have to get it right before I publish it.

When the Wolf Bites
I thought I'd take the chance to answer some readers' questions about When the Wolf Bites - at the same time Goodreads are working with me to tidy my bookshelf - as there are several titles of this book showing there which can be confusing.
When the Wolf Bites was previously published in 2015 as two books - under the titles When the Wolf Bites Part I and When the Wolf Bites Part II.
But this caused some confusion with my readers so it was republished in 2016 as one big 730-page book under the title When the Wolf Bites.
But when readers told me they preferred that huge book split back into two volumes, I couldn't help but agree with them.
So in 2017, When the Wolf Bites Part I was republished and called When the Wolf Hunts, which became the second book in the Madeleine series.
When the Wolf Bites Part II was republished and became When the Wolf Bites, the 3 book in the series.
I'm thrilled that readers are still enjoying this series and I hope this clears up some confusion. x

The book I'm currently working on
This is another historical romance, set in the American west around 1850 although unlike the Madeleine series, this book won't have fantasy in it, just for a change.
And as this book is still a work in progress, the excerpt here might change. But here you go.
She burst through the kitchen door, her glorious auburn hair hanging long and loose to her waist, the pins that held it in place lost when she rode the horse hard across the fields. Her skirt and petticoat hung in untidy folds about her legs, her boots were muddy and scrapped and bits of dirt were splashed across her face, marking that flawless complexion while her pale green eyes stared in bewilderment at the man sitting at Martha’s kitchen table. He stumbled to his feet, knocking the table, his eyes wide with astonishment at the vision of her as she stepped into the room, yet as she held his eyes, dark and fathomless in a face that was young, yet worn, yet utterly beautiful, something about him made her stop and be still. Then she took a step towards him, drawn to him, before Martha stepped in front of her, coming between them, ready to scold her for her untidy appearance.

Update on Sadie
It's been awhile since I last wrote on Goodreads and my blog (www.sadieconall.com), so thought it about time I let my readers know what I'm up to.
I have been busy writing over the last few months and one of those stories is a stand-alone historical romance set in the American west, some forty years after the Madeleine series. Although I don't plan to add any fantasy to this story, so I'll be interested to hear what my readers think. I'll be putting an excerpt up later next week.
As for the Madeleine series, I thought it finished as I didn't see Ryder and Madeleine as having anything more to say, but readers have emailed me (contact@sadieconall.com) and asked if there will be any more books. So I've decided to add some free short stories with some of our favorite characters to newsletters I plan to put out over the coming months. The first free story which I'm currently writing is about Ryder as a boy, so if you're interested in reading it please don't hesitate to sign up for my newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time and I promise not to spam you.
