Matter is an Illusion
This has now been proven mathematically, beginning with the paper Inertia as a Zero-Point-Field Lorentz Force, written by physicists Bernhard Haisch, Alfonso Rueda and H.E. Puthoff, and published in Physical Review in February of 1994.
This paper shows that inertia (which is another term for mass) is the resistance to being accelerated through the Zero Point Field. So mass is an illusionary effect of resistence due to the Lorentz force of the magnetic field component of the zero point field. Or in other words, mass is the resistance of acceleration through space (or vacuum).
This means that matter, which is defined by the attribute of mass, is an illusion of this subatomic Lorentz force. The larger an object, the more subatomic particles it contains, the more Lorentz force it will experience.
And when you apply this to Einstein's famous E=mc2, you find that mass is no longer equivalent to energy. Mass is energy. Everything of matter made is nothing more than a collection of electrical charges interacting in in the electromagnetic field of the background Zero Point Field.
There is no mass. There is only charge.
Likewise, mass is no longer the source of gravity. Gravity is the attractive force between the secondary electromagnetic fields of any two particles. (See Beyond E=mc2.)
Matter is the expression of a drag force. Matter is resistance. And as the Borg said, resistance is futile.
