Cover Reveal - Married for the Warrior's Alliance

Spain, 1147
Jimena De la Torre, daughter of the Duke of Moncaster, watches in horror as the Moors reclaim her family's lands. Left to fend for herself when her father falls in battle and her brother strives to live to fight another day, she'll have to accept whatever fate dictates. And it dictates she marry to keep Moncaster and its people safe and in peace. When the leader sheds his helmet, she has a vision of the tautest, most devastatingly sinful warrior she'd ever seen as he shakes her certainties to the core. But as her loyalties start to become divided, she does not know if she wants to fight for her people against him. Or with him.
Rashid Abd Al-Zahar, the general who clawed up the ranks and won the most precious prize of all, will not let everything slip from his fingers for a woman who comes from the enemy's side. He needs to marry her as an alliance to solidify his supremacy over these lands. At the stunning sight of her, however, he starts doubting this marriage is for anything less than enjoying her lures under the stars that command their destiny.

Ladies & Strays
The Lady and the Bricklayer
Hello, everyone,
I'm so excited about the coming lunch of the last book in L&S series! The Lady and the Bricklayer comes out on 28 March!
As you all know, on Amazon, the more reviews, the higher the book's ranking. For us authors, you either play the game or no dessert so to say ;-) So, if you can find it in your heart to read and review book 3 in the series, please PM so I can send you an ARC! My heartfelt thanks in advance.
And keep tuned, there are fun new series on the way. And I mean it in the plural.
Love
Xoxo

Women and their 'limited' lives

When I launched "Her Wicked Marquess", whose heroine is an actress with very progressive ideas, a few readers pointed out that such a woman could never have existed in the Regency Period.
That's actually not entirely true. About two years ago I came across this book that really surprised me with the stories of the women in it. Granted, they lived in the Georgian Era, which presented a wide gray zone for women.
For one, the laws of the time seldom specified that women didn't belong, or couldn't act, or shouldn't dare, this or that activity, be it economic, academic, or political. Precisely because those women did, the usual patriarchal standards framed new laws to exclude them.
But not only that, the book brings examples of several women who found themselves in a position where they either took their destinies into their own hands or their families, and particularly children, would suffer. Something they wouldn't allow.
But, yes, as the unrest in France spread the fear of a Revolution across the Channel, the ruling classes made it a point to prevent any alien ideas from taking root. It caused a massive roll-back of social and cultural innovations that might have arisen.
The Victorian Era would not only condone it but also transform society in a monoblock of austerity and suppression single-mindedly aimed at women's discipline. Despite the river of secrecy and hypocrisy running beneath it, on the surface, Victorians boasted that self-righteous, Spartan image that comes to mind to anyone thinking of that epoch.
That, however, doesn't mean that there weren't women whose very actions propelled them onto a life that might have baffled their contemporaries throughout the century. The Bronte Sisters are there to prove it.
As a historian specializing in the British Empire, I'd be careful about the stereotypes publicized by the media. Even though on the surface things seem to be one way, upon a closer look, they may hide stunning surprises.
And those are too inspiring to pass!
