Wizard World Interview

The cover story for issue 1.2 of the new Wizard World digital magazine is an interview with me about The Homeland Directive.  It's the first interview I've done about my forthcoming graphic novel with Mike Huddleston, and in the article I also talk a little bit about my experience with the Surrogates film (and tease some news about when Brett Weldele and I will be reteaming for the next chapter of The Surrogates).  The issue is available for download in either PDF or iPad versions.

My article comes on the heels of last week's cover story about Nathan Edmondson, the writer of the Image miniseries Who Is Jake Ellis?  Nathan lives just down the road a piece, so that's a two-week streak for Georgia writers owning the cover.  If Wizard World is searching for another Peach State resident for next week's issue, I recommend either Andy Runton or Van Jensen.

The Homeland Directive Available for Preorder!

The Homeland Directive is solicited in the March issue, released today, of the Previews catalogue for comics and graphic novels shipping to comic book retailers in May.  You can find it in the green section with the rest of the listings for Top Shelf Productions on pages 320-321 (I haven't seen the new Previews yet, so thanks to Comics Plus in Macon for the intel).  Let your comics shop know if you'd like them to order a copy for you.  If you can't find the catalogue, you can see the solicitation details online

In other news, the pop-culture website PopMatters was given an advance look at the book, and they've posted a feature article that opens with a discussion of The Surrogates and then shifts to The Homeland Directive.  The article sheds some light on the story and previews a few panels of Mike Huddleston's art.  I love the backgrounds Mike worked into the pages, and PopMatters reveals a couple of my favorites.

The Homeland Directive is scheduled to be released on May 25.
