Rogering that!

On the subject of Mark's post, a friend sends along some helpful research, published by the Telegraph last year, courtesy of a learned imam in Morocco (bold emphasis below is in the original, which I pass along without further comment because -- well, what else is there to say, really):

An Imam in Morocco issued a fatwa stating that necrophilia is “Halal” or religiously acceptable practice in Islam. He said that a husband has the right to have sex with his dead wife.

The Imam, whose name is Zamzami Abdelbari, said that marriage remains valid even after death, which does not cancel the marriage link. He took as evidence a Koranic verse which says that Muslims believers will go to Paradise with their wives…

Sheikh Zamzami said that the husband has the right to have sex with his dead wife. He added that the husband may wash the body of his dead wife and have sex with her.

He said that the woman also has the same right but failed to explain how a woman can manage to perform sex with the corpse of her dead husband.

However, Sheikh Zamzami, tempered his most unusual fatwa by stating that necrophilia, though Halal is a disgusting act that would be best avoided.

And Now for the Corpse Formerly Known as U.S. Counterterrorism

Mark, I'm afraid that what Islamists are now doing to corpses in Egypt is about what they're doing to counterterrorism in the United States. The Pentagon has just piled on with various federal law enforcement agencies in the rush to conduct a review of training materials with an eye toward purging anything the Muslim Brotherhood might find offensive -- like the insane notion that jihad might have something to do with Islam, or the crazy idea that, just because the Justice Department proved the Brotherhood has admitted to having a mission (a "Grand Jihad") to destroy the United States, the Brotherhood might, like, actually be on a mission to destroy the United States.

All the more reason to watch GBTV's "Rumors of War III". I was glad to be part of it, and I just got back from a quick trip to Dallas to watch the unveiling ... and then talk about it on Glenn's show along with a couple of terrific friends -- General Jerry Boykin and Diana West -- who also appeared in it. More details here. Well worth your time to watch the documentary ... and to give GBTV a shot.

Column Hiatus

Thanks to e-mailers who asked about my scarcity around these parts the last few days. In spring, this not so young man's fancy has turned to thoughts of . . . the "Arab Spring" -- such that I am strapped in trying to finish a project that I'll have more to say about soon. While I may ring in from time to time on the Corner and on Twitter, I'll be taking a couple of weeks off from column-writing, including on the weekend. Plan to be back in early May. Over and out.

Hope Not Hate

Mark, our pal Roger Kimball is doing his best to make the grade. Insha-Allah, they will admit him!

Islamists Try to Co-opt Locke in Sharia Campaign

My friend Karen Lugo has a great column on the homepage today about the Islamic Circle of North America's lavishly financed campaign to convince you that sharia and the Constitution are perfectly compatible -- in fact, in preserving our liberties, the Framers were just applying Islam. Really.

We Could Solve This Thing if the Brits Would Just Give Back the Maldives!

This Obama gaffe was in a prepared speech, mind you. Still, the Obamedia, British Division, continue to cover for the smartest man ... well, ever, by snide GWB comparisons. I don't know what they think at the English embassy but W at least knew a corpse-man from a breathalyzer.

Re: Pay No Attention to that House of Lords Hitman

Mark, maybe those Brits should think about moving to Italy. I hear Qatar is buying it. They'll feel right at not home.

Labour Party ‘Suspends’ Lord Ahmed over Bounty on Obama, Bush

The Telegraph has the story here. Strong letter to follow, I’m sure.
