Escritor español. Llevó una vida aventurera: fue soldado en Francia, luchó como corsario contra los ingleses y fue perseguido por haber dado muerte a un hombre en Málaga. Su obra incluye dramas (El natural desdichado), la narración El viaje entretenido (1603) -de inestimable valor para conocer la vida teatral durante los ss. XVI y XVII- y un tratado administrativo, El buen repúblico (1611), que fue prohibido por la Inquisición.
