Lucas Pederson’s Scares That Care Campaign
I would love to attend this event, however, in the meantime, folks can help in other ways.
Hi Everybody!
I’m editing a novel Fall to Rise for Dark Recesses Press, by an author called Lucas Pederson. DRP intends to release the guys book at the Scares That Care Weekend,July 21-23, 2017 DOUBLETREE BY HILTON WILLIAMSBURG, VA . That, in and of itself isnt really unusual, however, for Lucas it’s a bit personal.
Lucas Pederson
Lucas’ mother has developed Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis which is this incurable neurological disease which in the end stops your breathing and kills you. So going to Scares That Care Weekend would be a really big deal for him.
Lucas’ mum
Lucas has created a gofundme campaign to raise some money to assist Lucas to attend his own book launch, but also to put some funds towards supporting his mother’s medical bills and, with luck, the Scares that Care charity. Click the go fund me logo below to go to Lucas’ campaign page and please consider donating…

A Pilgrim Stranger by Mark Samuels
A Pilgrim Stranger by Mark Samuels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed reading this book, having completed it in two sittings.
Although the novel is not weird or supernatural, I heartedly recommend it to anyone who has read Mark’s fiction without reserve.
Those who have yet to read anything by the author, are in for a real literary treat.

Foggy Dew
[image error]Listening to The Rest, I Leave To The Poor by Plinth (aka Michael Tanner) on a foggy journey is quite the rewarding experience, if one likes subtle atmospheric experiences.
Are those eyes I see before us, glowing with the sinful flames of hell?
In all probability, it’s just the rear of yet another dirt covered lorry, transporting mundane loads towards Greater Manchester, the musical doorway to England’s northern regions.
Whatever the truth maybe, I think it will be in our best intrests if we hang back, just a little bit.

World domination plans on hold…
I was so disappointed to discover I had misread the job title on a incoming email this morning. I really wanted to apply for the post of Deadly Projects Manager.
Fingers crossed, it looks like im finally getting further help on the fibromyalgia front, not bad since I’ve just hit the two year anniversary of being upgraded from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
This biannual theme continued with being told that I should of had a follow up chest X-Ray for a scan taken in 2014. The Doctor was pretty sure there was nothing to be concerned about, he just wanted to make sure.
To cheer myself up, I went on a spending spree, buying all of the above for the grand sum of £12.00! Not bad when you consider three of theses books are first editions.

The Wave: Algernon Blackwood
One of the great things in life, for me is the discovery of ephemera found within old books.
[image error] In this case it was inside The Wave, subtitled An Egyptian Aftermath by Algernon Blackwood, and originally published in 1916. At first it seems to be a random clipping of newspaper ads from about 1916.

If you look closely, you will notice the cellotape has worn out over time, and if you carefully turn over the paper…

…a previous owner had inserted a newspapper cutting of a wave. I should really look in to the origins of this image one day.

CV
[image error]
I feel like I’ve been lifting elephants, when in reality I have simply spent the afternoon filling in the CV form on the dot gov dot uk website.
I had to laugh at the keywords it used to match up jobs I should apply for – non within easy reach – including a Health & Safety position, because I mentioned my involvement in a video designed to inform new student of the health and safety procedures they should follow on a film location.
It’s probably for the best I didn’t mention filming brain surgery.
Job club is going to be the mental equivalent of a 2000 Maniacs barrel role.
Wish me luck.

Arthur Machen – Arthur Machen’s 1890’s Notebook
Dust jacket looks damaged, but 99p and no bids with just under a hour and half to go.
This wonderful book was only available to members of the Friends of Arthur Machen.
The sale has nothing to do with me personally, I just thought I’d share the link.
