ATLANTA SHOW w/ ANDREA GIBSON!!
March 4, 2015 Buddy Wakefield and Andrea Gibson at Vinyl,
1374 West Peachtree Street NW, Atlanta, GA, 7pm
TICKETS can be purchased HERE.
This is the show I’ve most looked forward to since Sydney,
Australia when Anis Mojgani and I got to cross paths.
There’s nothing like performing with family when the road’s been long.
If you can’t make it, I’ll be doin’ a solo show in Athens the night before
at Normaltown Records with Kaylen Alan Krebsbach
that’s gonna be a sure-win blast.
Y’all come on out both nights.
I leave you with my favorite pic of Andrea and I
lookin’ straight outta Gummo in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Still so stinkin’ stoked Jimmy Jones,
my first best friend in this life from four years old
showed up at The Blarney Stone show in Norwich, NY.
Same ilk.
Grilled cheese ball.
Thank goodness.

… I have so much blood
when I wake up
it rumbles under my ears
a stampede of blazing horse rabies
barreling toward my threshold.
Put your head to my plunging chest if you
still can’t hear them coming.
In my hiding spots
they find me
breathing too loud.
I have been pulled out by the ankles.
In these bones
it is my understanding
whatever suffering is left of me when I die
will translate and travel with me.
On days like today
this is the only reason I stay here.
When I go
I do not want to take this beast with me. Not one more step.

CALL FOR BOOK COVER
January 31, 2015
This year I’m putting my first three books out of print. One new book called Stunt Water, which combines the first three books, will be released in their place. It is not new material. Once this beast of a world tour is over I will focus my efforts on finishing the new material and release a brand new collection but, for now, I’m simply looking to put out a tight compilation of the first twenty years (!!…holy crap that happened fast). Preexisting work is usually best so I can choose something I definitely like. If you’re willing to create something for fun, be inspired by the image below of five blind albino orphans in West Bengal, India photographed by Brent Stirton. An innovative water color adaptation of this photo may be exactly what I’m looking for. To see the artwork on previously released books, CD’s and T-shirts have a look at www.buddywakefield.com/merchandise/. Please email submissions and portfolio links to buddy@buddywakefield.com or they may not be seen. Really looking forward to seeing the goods. See y’all tonight in Brooklyn.

One of my former campers from years ago
sent a thoughtful letter out of the blue
with this video he made in the arboretum at Cal State Fullerton
of a piece I wrote in 2004 called Flockprinter.
Thank you for the message, the surprise and the fantastic work,
James Loges. Sure made my day man.

I made a deal with Mom
when I’m done with this beast of a tour
I will come home
and put puzzles together with her for a while.
There is nothing in this life I would like to do more.
