TIME TRAVEL TECH SUPPORT

I wrote a blog entry way back on July 07, 2021, about trouble I was having with my blogs. It seems they had disappeared, and nothing I could do brought them back. I gave it a shot several times before giving up. Online tech support couldn't do anything to fix it. 

Then I had a brilliant idea: I would ask my adult daughter for help. 

Apparently it worked with what she did and in ten minutes, she had my blogs up and running again.

So, since it seemed I had a similar problem, I looked at my July 7, 2021 blog entry in "The World According to Liz" and gave her suggestions a try. And what do you know? It worked! Again.

Maybe I should write a book listing all the tips people have given me when I need tech support. Not the Pros tips...the ones that work. 😉Or I could just publish a single-page book that says, "Ask Your Kids." Because not only did my child fix my blog trouble; she also told me she needs tech support, she asks HER kids. 😁So the second tip is, "Ask Your Grandkids."

Technology Failure?

 When  my kids were young and technology, to me anyway, was a computer with MS-DOS and dot matrix printers, I was considered the expert in our family. Anyone with a tech question came to me.I enjoyed working with the high-tec stuff and felt I was helpful/useful.

But gradually over the years, it seemed more and more complex. Sometimes I guessed right--through sheer luck--and managed to hang onto my honorary title of Mom the Magnificent. 

But nowadays, I end up on tech support chats, waiting endlessly for someone to help me. 

Today is an example. I've been trying to get into my blog--this one--and just couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. It had only been a few days since my last post, but suddenly I couldn't get in. In desperation, I called my adult daughter away from whatever she was doing to help me. I had little confidence that she could help as I was positive it was my computer going bonkers and it wasn't my fault at all.

Well, after ten minutes, she had it "fixed." What was wrong was somehow I was logging in with the wrong sign-in...I was signing in as if I were a blog reader, not trying to post a blog of my own.

So I guess my honorary title is forfeited unless...wait, wait, I have an idea. No one seems able to figure out how to use apostrophes. I do. There's a title I can still hold!

I Write Like...

A fellow writer posted a link to a website that analyzes a few paragraphs of one of your books, and tells you who you write like. I checked it out and got Anne Rice. Cool!
