FCC Wants to Revoke Free Speech in Broadcast News

This book reveals the growing threat to free speech and news, from some in government and others:

A former television network executive for Law and Standards explains:

How the government would quietly bring back government regulation of the content of television news
The same kind of regulation the FCC and courts found deprived the public of news and information for many years—the so-called "Fairness Doctrine"—until it was revoked in 1987 because it had suppressed news, chilled speech, deterred news reporting, reduced diversity, and censored opposing political views
A New Localism, Balance and Diversity Regulation would govern station news content. It would be enforced by a local community board at each station to recommend the broadcast license not be renewed if the station failed to conform to FCC and board member views
The Chief of the White House regulatory Office has long urged that government should manage news to advance its own political and social objectives.

Government is transferring the entire broadcast spectrum to the Internet over the next 10 years under an agreement of the President, Congress and the FCC. It has already started Internet regulation.

What are you going to do to stop it?
