New Crobuzon, and I'd wander around taking it all in while trying not to get killed

My TBR pile is insane, I actually have to stop buying books, we have no more room!

Touch wood I've never been badly hit by it, but I think the answer has to be power through, it doesn't matter if you're writing complete rubbish, just write something and eventually it will turn around.

Getting all this stuff that's in my head out and onto paper. I think I might go a bit stir crazy otherwise. And the thought that other people are reading my writing, you just can't beat that.

It's a very character driven piece of Sci-fi. It's not a space opera or anything, but it is definitely set in the future and is powered by a 'big idea'. I always try and take large and difficult concepts and boil them down to how it would affect an individual and this is no different.

It was inspired by a few things:
The banking crisis and the public reaction to it. An almost rabid desire for someone to pay for it
I was thinking a lot about the way deification of objects and how we place so much emphasis on digital communication.
And a series of visits I made to various mental health wards for work.
They all kind of mixed together and I came up with The Zoo
