Hi M.
I was in the military for a few years but those days are firmly in the past. So no boots in the Corps just a whole lot of empathy for the men and women who serve, and especially for those who strive and struggle to readjust to civilian life. I also empathize with the underdog, and at the same time recognize that even those in power don’t always get it right, or escape the obstacles that life frequently, and happily throws our way.
I started writing fiction full time after deciding that working in the ivory towers of the corporate world wasn’t producing the satisfaction, or legacy that I would hope to be remembered by. But mostly I started writing full time because I had the burning, passionate desire to create a world populated by characters I believe have something worthwhile to say. My novels embody those philosophies and leave the message that good things can happen, that perseverance, dedication and attention to detail are tools that can make it happen, with a little luck.
And, hopefully, I have done that by producing something others may find entertaining.
My first book, Dangerous Perceptions: The Road To Nowhere is currently available as a free giveaway on Goodreads. If you are interested take a look, and if the story resonates with you in a positive way then we’ll both be happy to have crossed paths with one another.
Thanks for taking the time to ask your question.

A third book is currently underway, although, in truth, the process is stalled pending renewed motivation. The recent, and current, focus has been centered on making the first two books available through Apple's iBooks and Amazon Kindle, as well as joining this, the Goodreads community.
The reception of Dangerous Perceptions is yet to be determined, and that will certainly influence the process.

To this point, the best thing that has come from the experience is the satisfaction of producing a finished work, and the belief that in the process something meaningful and entertaining has been created.

Leave whatever you're writing alone for awhile and spend a few quiet moments in contemplation until ideas start to flow.

Write about what you know, what interests you and make sure the story is well structured, entertaining, flows and doesn't get bogged down.
Most importantly, just do it, make a start and see where the experience leads. It won't take long to realize if something is coming together that can be developed into a finished product.

Inspiration is internalized and born from the desire to express. It's not something you can call on, will into existence or force. For me it's something that is either on, or not.

Ideas come from experiences lived, from career choices and the subjects, situations and people that I find interesting.
